fact checks: arm yourself
I know as the election nears we all may not share the same views on the candidates, but there is a very good website that attempts to be non-partisan (and, i think they are pretty successful at that):

They assess statements made by candidates and check the facts, so to speak. The top fact check today is in regards to Obama's assertion that McCain would have invested social security money in the stock market and that money would be gone now, if he had his way. I have done a fair bit of reading on the topic and am comfortable with the "false" label factcheck gives it.
They also challenge McCain's misrepresentation of Obama's proposed tax plan.
