Happy Birthday to Me

Hola!
Coming to you a little bit tipsy, and a little bit 29 from here in San Francisco.  I turned 29 at 12am EST, which was about 9pm PST.  I was at my favorite San Fran bar, Midnight Sun, with Shawn Brown to ring in the auspicious event.  Yay!  29....WOW...holy fuck.

Ok, that's it.

I'll be spending the better part of my birthday on a plane crossing the US, but then a quiet dinner with my roommates. My big birthday fete isn't until Friday :)

29....one more year to keep acting like I'm im 25.  When I hit 30, I have to grow up.  You know...act more like I'm 26!

Oh, and yes, I did just spend the last 5 days out in San Fran...how was that?  Oh, great, thank you for asking!  I had a pretty good time.  I went under the umbrella that it was training for a conference.  So I stayed at the Ritz for the past two nights.  It was nice to SAY that I stayed at the Ritz, but honestly, I wasn't that impressed.  I mean the rooms are a great size for SF, but, it was just OK.  Nothing that I jumped out and said, HOLY SHIT, I'm staying at the Ritz.  And I think this building used to be a bank, or US mint or Insurance Company or something.  I'll have to google it later or something.  So yeah, the Ritz.  Oh, did I mention that even though West Coast Life (the company sponsering the event) paid for the room, they still charge you for "incidentals."  Yes, at the mightly reasonable rate of authorizing $200 a night for incidentals.  HOLY SHIT.  I could easily book another room for $200 a night.  Kind of sucks.  So my debit card (I don't have credit cards) now has a $400 hold on it.  Fucking Ritz.

But other than that actuarial shitiness, the rest of the weekend was fun.  Even the day that I spent in training (you know, the whole reason why I'm here) was actually pretty interesting.  I have to hand it to West Coast Life, they actually kept me engaged pretty much the whole day.  Although, I did skip out on dinner to meet Shawn in the Castro...but SHHHH!

What else did I do this weekend.  Shawn and I saw both The Last Mimsy and 300 (IMAX) this weekend.  To be honest, I would reccommend both!  Very good.  Well, for what you get.  I mean, if you want a very good children's movie, and a very good sci-fi...then, there you go.

We also ate out a lot.  I drank a fair amount...and we relaxed.  Not too much better than that, huh?

Ok, I just yawned, and realized I've been pecking away semi-drunk, and 29, so I should go to bed.  I mean, it's 10:30, and i'm in the last year of my 20's.  Girl needs her beauty sleep.

Good night everyone.

Toodles.
