Happy news and sad news. Happy news first. I had my very first Ultimate Frisbee game tonight and WE WON!!! We beat Cretinderm Hall, which is apparently a very good team. The best thing about Frisbee is that it's all about fun! You just don't get that in soccer. The teams are nice to each other, and the Spirit Award is more highly coveted than the championship, so you do things like say "good job" when the other team scores, and high-five them. In mid-May there's a Frisbee tournament for the whole Western half of the country held in Seattle. I really want to go, and I have the $300 that I need, but Mom and Dada think I'd be missing too much school. It's just a weekend and Friday and Monday! Two days!! Oh well. I'll just try to talk to my teachers and change my parents' minds.
But anyways, that wasn't the sad news. The sad news is actually two days old, but it's still depressing. Laura went back to California. Sunday, at 11 AM. I'm going to miss her just as much as I did before, but I'll try not to angst as much at least. It was great having her here. Sort of took all of the wangst out of my life, just having someone to talk to. I can't wait till the end of May, when the whole family is going to go out to Napa (or San Fransisco. I can't remember) and visit her. Not only will it be wonderful to see her again, but I'll see the ocean for the first time in my life.
But right now it's a month and a half away, and I have to practice bass clarinet. My audition slot is set for Thursday, and I'd better get the timing down on my third piece.
