Not the ballroom

Finally got around to going to the Ballroom's successor Synthetic Culture last night. Not a bad club. I enjoy the novelty of a new club with lots of twisty passages. It reminded me of my 1st time in Slimelight or Tracks or NY Limelight. So that was quite nice.

Had I known it would be so cold I'd have not checked my coat. Another pound fifty on top of me being idiotic enough to not bring any fliers. It'd have been nice to spend more time on the balconies, but cold and rain does not make for the best of times.

And for some reason I like having a club in the middle of nowhere that happens to be "close" to where I live.

Music was Metal on the bottom floor, techo and trace on the 2nd, and trance and techo on the 3rd. They did a very nice set of Old School Bleepy stuff (read: new wave) which made me quite happy -- after which I left since it's best to leave when things are nice.

Spent the entire walk home contemplating nice clubs vs gentrification in London and how it starts (Angel, Camden, Stoke Newington...) and difference between techo and goth dancing (linear vs smooth motions and how the concept of personal space is just not the same).

All in all a good night out... Saw many nice people I do not see enough of. Will likely be back at some point.
