2003: Not good (official)
This has been one of the most unpleasant years yet. I'm not saying nothing good has happened, since this year has had some very wonderful lovely events. But, the bad things have been so very unpleasant. And considering the bad things started coinciding with a very bad end to new years eve (dragging luggage 1/2 a mile thru the pouring rain at 6 in the morning on 15 minutes sleep), which leads me to suspect the annoyances will last til the end of Dec. To add to the employment troubles and housing trouble ("you want us to fix things and you quote the lease at us: here's your 2 months notice to get out -- By the way we have someone coming to view the place in 6 minutes, is that ok?") now my sweetie is broken
The diagnosis is a broken clavicle which can take months to heal, and is very likely to do so awkwardly. Either that or require sugery and leave a big scar (with a decent chance of not working well) or cost many many $$$$ (Can only get the good surgery in the US). It also precludes use of the right arm for anything more intense than finger-wiggling. So the big move in 2-3 weeks is going to be a bit of a challenge. As is finding the flat. And doing wedding preparations.
Next year will be much much better.
