Getting tired, but way too much to do before I sleep.

Movers are coming tomorrow. They were provided as part of the Deere relocation package, and I'm so extremely grateful. I'm apparently not supposed to pack anything, because anything I pack would not be covered by their insurance. That's cool with me, I think, but I still needed to go through my house and clean it out. I figured, no sense in taking stuff that I don't want/need/use.

I've lived in this house for over ten years now. That's a long time, when you stop and think about it. It's seen numerous cast parties, studying for classes, working on audition songs, promotions, new appliances, excitement, a divorce, new relationships, good times, bad times... A lot happens to a person in one year, let alone ten.

They tell you that you should keep the original packaging whenever you buy big stuff, so when you move it, you'll have the best available packing material for it. I took that to heart, and have always put the boxes downstairs. This sounds like a good plan, but you have to remember to throw away those boxes when you get rid of the item. My poor basement had boxes for things I got rid of years and years ago. I've upgraded my computer four times since moving in. So, of course, there were four computer boxes down there. I had boxes for televisions, DVD players, stereo equipment, instruments, photographic equipment... ugh. And, it's kinda damp down there, so some of the older boxes were practically falling apart anyway.

I've been working on the attic the past couple of days. My stash of cassette tapes that I saved for some unknown reason. Programs for almost every show I've ever been a part of. Artwork and posters from when I first moved in. Old clothes in sizes I will likely never be again. And books, egad, the books. They will consume me. Note to self: in the future, if you have a catch-all room, remember to go through it once a year and weed it out, to avoid this madness.

So, yeah, I'm tired. This may be an all-nighter before I'm through. But I will hopefully not be asking them to move anything that I'm just going to throw away when I arrive. OK, break's over... back to work!
