Thank you all for your kind words and positive thinking for my recent job interview. It went remarkably well. A long day (3 separate interviews, plus a lunch meeting), but a good one. The job title is "Technical Lead" but it seems like a basic project manager position. I'd be leading a team of offshore Java developers, monitoring progress, making sure code was up to snuff, that sort of thing. I've done that basic job before, so my job history should look pretty good to them, as should my educational credentials.
The last guy told me that he assumed the guy who was hiring did have other applicants for the job, he just hadn't gotten around to scheduling interviews with them yet. That made me feel optimistic about my chances. You see, from the time I posted to the time I had my phone interview and scheduled the on-site interview was a matter of, like, three days. He appeared to be fairly motivated to talk to me, which I think is a good sign. We'll see.
There was much made of my coming from Caterpillar, one of Deere's strongest competitors, especially in the Construction/Forestry division for which I'm interviewing. All in good natured jest, hehe.
I should find out in a few weeks. Then we'll see what kind of offer they can put together.
Again, thanks for your best thoughts and wishes.
