So after Drips closed and after hanging out in the parking lot for maybe half an hour, Jarrett, Tommy, Jen, and I headed to the Waho for some late night food... A little before one, we leave after discussing schools, theatre, sexuality, and watching Jen eat lemon after lemon covered in sugar.
We get back to the Drips parking lot where Old Blue is. Before we part ways, we listen to a few more songs from "Avenue Q," and they realize I have a cd of "Peter and the Wolf" narrated by Mr. David Bowie. We listen to a little bit of it and see a police car pull down the hill into the parking lot.
He parks behind my car and shines his headlights up at us. I start wishing I had some sort of lights on the back of the van that I could shine back at him, but sadly, I don't. After a little while, he comes up and counts the people in the car.
"There's four of 'em... I guess they weren't having sex. <- (cop's inner dialogue) Can I see everyone's ID?"
He takes the ID's back to the car and spends a good five or ten minutes looking at them. Meanwhile, a second cop car pulls in.
"Now, you don't have any spraypaint in the vehicle, do you? What about drugs? Hookers? Illegal immigrants? We've had some reports of vandalism around here. What are you doing here anyways? Stupid kids... I'll bust them for something yet."
"Just got back from Waffle House, sir. We were listening to a few songs before everyone went home."
"A-ha! Listening to songs, eh? Is that what you're calling it these days?! Well, this is private property, so I'm just gonna have to ask you to go on home..." (By this time, the other cop is out of his car standing on the other side of the van.
Everyone gets out, and I get ready to pull out. I notice the cops have stopped Tommy and Jen on the way to their car out front of Drips. Apparently, they're going through Tommy's backpack: "I'll bet there's drugs, spraypaint, and/or sex in there... What's this? Dungeons and Dragons? What are you, some kinda Satan-worshipping Homersexual?"
After they leave, I drive off and go home. Jarrett is hopefully gonna try to see who was on duty tonight around 1 AM and see who was driving the car we got the number of. Hopefully, we can file some sorta complaint about harassment, lack of search warrants, or something amusing like that... Not that I care, really... But it was annoying.
