This report is a supplement to my previous report from yesterday. Please check that for the full set list and performance details. This report is just new things I noticed that changed from yesterday.
Today our seats were on the other side of the stand by third base. We were farther back so we had a good view of the whole set up and penlight effects. The crowd was really worked up tonight and screamed a lot during the whole concert. There were a lot of blue lights tonight (and yesterday there was too).
The concert started on time with the same vtr as yesterday. For Love So Sweet they all made the wo~ wo~ noises during the opening like they were messing around. Nino and Jun came by our section on the cart and were waving widely at the stands. When they got back to the front they got the card regularly but during Jun's solo at the end of the song Nino pointed his fingers at him as they walked back. For the last part they were throwing their hands up so the audience sang yeah yeah loudly.
The opening greetings were similar to yesterday but they added a few new things.
Jun: since yesterday I was only thinking of the concert. I'm pumped up. Are you ready? Are you ready to be happy? We're going to make everyone "happy"!!
Nino: Irradhaimase!
Let's have fun!
You're not loud enough!
Aiba: He said you're not loud enough!!
Are you excited!
This is the best!
Ohno: Hai~
Can you do it?
Shall we do the usual?
Sapporo Are you Happy matsuri...
Us: day!
Ohno: *in a cute nasally voice* yoroshiku
Sho: Sapporooooooooo
How are the upper stands?
How are the lower stands?
How's the arena?
(He paused for a second and raised his fingers to his lips)
How are the men? (They were much louder tonight than last night so I was surprised)
One more time, how are the men?
How are the women? (of course there were lots)
Sapporo, we are ready. How about you?
After we screamed the Arashi call, Sho said "louder!!" In English and that made me super excited.
For the opening of his solo today Sho stretched cutely like he had just woken up before he started singing. While the other members were singing Ohno was pointing and waving at the audience.
In the second half of the song when Aiba and Sho sing together Aiba was patting his shoulder and then they stood next to each other and out their arms around each other's shoulders. Then the camera went to Ohno, Jun, and Nino again who were also swaying together with their arms around each other's shoulders just like yesterday.
At the start of Drive Sho was holding the hand camera again and struggled to get a close up of all the members faces for their opening solos in the song. He was sitting a lot closer to Jun, probably because it was easier to get the three in he back from that angle. Unfortunately the hand camera kept breaking up and freezing so they only had it on screen less than half the time compared to yesterday.
About a third of the way through Sho stood up and leaned against the top of the windshield. He looked cool but made me worry for him falling. Jun got the hand camera next and when he did a close up of Aibas face Aiba gave us his signature wink. When they passed the camera back to Nino Sho started moving the chord back properly like a camera mans assistant. When Nino did a close up of Jun he winked several times too.
For Step and Go they made it to our side of the dome. Sho stood up first, then Jun did again and started shaking his butt like yesterday. Either Aiba or Nino reached forward and smacked his butt so Jun sat down again and turned around to glare at them for a minute, then suddenly gave a thumbs up and a big smile. At the end again during Sho's rap, Jun had the camera again. He went between Sho and the three in the back (that were doing rapper dances and hand gestures at each other) before they got out of the car. Then the other camera filmed Jun jamming to Sho's rap at he recorded him again. He was much more into it than yesterday and we were all screaming.
Jun and Aiba did their funny arm dance together again and then the camera went to Nino and Sho. Nino did a similar dance much more exaggerated while standing in front of Sho but Sho just laughed at him.
After Don't You Get It they had their short conversation while Ohno left.
Jun: I'm happy~
Sho: Are you having fun?
They thanked us for coming and asked how many people had seen the winning game for the Nippon Hams at Sapporo Dome this year.
Nino: At the start J was already saying it's hot in here.
Jun: Everyone is so excited.
Nino: You were saying you were thinking about the concert since yesterday. I think you were serious but this guy (Aiba) was laughing the whole time during your greeting.
Sho then asked who had listened to the album before coming. It seemed like everyone said yes but "despite creating an awkward atmosphere" he also asked who hadn't bought it or even listened to it. Who was listening to the songs for the first time. A few people yelled out loudly so Sho chided them for not taking Arashi seriously haha.
When they got to the main stage they introduced themselves by name but when Sho finished they looked around in confusion.
Sho: 1, 2, 3, 4...
That's not right.
He's not here!
They talked over each other a little bit about how he was missing and then Sho asked us to all call for him together so we did.
Bad Boy was just as great as last night but I tried to pay close attention to his happy dance. I laughed really hard again and it felt like it was over so fast.
Two to Tango was good again and very cool. Before Aokimi started Nino and Ohno were looking at each other. Ohno was holding out his hand to shake Ninos but Nino looked at it, hesitated and then smacked it away and left.
When Aiba came by on the cart he waved widely at our stands section.
Jun did a normal introduction to the next song except he left out the and said, Power of Paradise instead.
For the start of the MC they introduced themselves as Arashi then had Ohno introduce himself too. They teased he saying they didn't think he would suddenly disappear like that.
Sho: since it's today we'd better talk about it... I already saw some uchiwas too! How did you guys make them so fast?
Nino: I wonder whether they made them quickly or if hey just have a series prepared and then choose one when they need it?
Sho: it was only announced today in the news at 3 pm. Aiba is the MC for Kohaku! Please tell us about it.
Aiba: we were MCs as Arashi before, but I'm really nervous to do it alone. I hope everyone will support me. I think everyone is insecure about it but please watch it and support me!
Nino: How does it feel to change from hosting as an amazing group like Arashi to taking it over by yourself?
Aiba: It's not like it's my fault!
Ohno: when did you know you'd do it?
Aiba: About a week ago
Ohno: That's so fast!
Aiba: It was really sudden so I asked them if I could sleep on it for a night.
Sho: I get you. You'd say yes just because if you refused you'd always be thinking about the huge chance you passed up.
Aiba; exactly!
Sho: We did it before so it's fine.
Aiba: Yeah but I didn't have to do anything hard!
They made a comment about Aiba trying to get close to a famous singer during Kohaku or something but I didn't catch it.
Sho: You must fell pretty insecure.
Aiba: Yes, so everyone please come!
Sho teased him since it sounded like he was asking the audience we he was actually telling Arashi to come to the show with him. Nino and Sho said they were looking forward to seeing him.
Sho: We honestly want you to do your best but it would be so funny to see you have some small mistakes.
And there are so many athletes and stuff you work with so when they come on it'll be like "Aiba and all his friends"
Ohno: you said you thought it was a dokkiri? (Prank)
Aiba: Yes! But since the meeting was just with me and an important guy from the company I knew it wasn't.
Sho: I bet you got a lot of messages when it was announced today.
Aiba: Yeah! About 50?
Us: Ohhh...
Aiba: What's with that reaction? Isn't 50 a lot? Did you think a few hundred? On my birthday I barely get 10!!
Jun: Did Kazama send you one?
Aiba: Not yet.
Jun: Maybe he's working.
Aiba: I got one from Yoko and Hina from Kanjani. But no other groups.
After that they did their announcements for their shows and movies. Sho talked about his wheelchair drama and that it finished filming in September on Arashis anniversary.
Ohno: You practiced so much you had blisters on your hands.
Sho: I did but they're gone now.
Aiba: isn't it hard? The hoop is the same height as regular basketball right?
Sho: Yes. You played basketball right? But I could probably beat you now. If i played in a wheelchair.
Next Ohno talked about his ninja movie. He said they finished filming at the end of September and it took two months in total.
Nino also explained his movie a little in detail and Sho was asking him if it was enjoyable for people that couldn't cook at all like him. Nino said yes but Sho had to clarify that he meant to ask if they had recipes they could try like the "omulettuce" one he and Ohno saw on tv last night. Nino said there weren't really any recipes you could try at home, it was more about the history of one recipe. But unlike Ohno's their film was on a tight budget so they did Ninos part all in two weeks.
Sho told us about Jun's straightforwardly and then added that he was having a Zeus battle in a few weeks.
Aiba: Do yo my even participate yourself?
Sho: Not really... I'm like the coach of the team. *gestured like moving chess pieces around*
They did a band intro at the end and then went into Jun's solo. It was the same as before.
When they came up in the towers Ohno was the closest to us but he was still two or three sections away.
Ninos solo was great but I'm excited to see it up close on the DVD since our seats were far away tonight.
When Aiba came out next and sang the slow opening of his solo he was grinning widely the whole time and looking so handsome. I was worried when he did the head spin because he wasn't as well balanced as yesterday. He actually fell over and then was put on a stretcher. When he did his backflip too the landing was close and made me catch my breath.
During the introductions of Seishun Boogie, when Jun fell back after getting hit with the rubber band he did a sit up, turning to face the camera and smiling widely. (It reminds me of his exercise machine commercial they have over here for La Quad or something like that, so it might have been an impression.) I enjoyed watching them dance again and tried dancing along myself.
In the medley during Troublemaker, Sho stopped in front of our section on the large cart and jumped around a lot with us.
We didn't have to wait too long for the encore. They came out suddenly with A Day in our Life again, but I don't think the call and response was as long as yesterday. The camera zoomed in on Jun and Ohno too early before it was actually their turn to sing (actually they did this three times). When they finally started their part they were standing next to each other and Jun reached up to touch the side of Ohno's face again. Ohno turned to him expectantly when they were done but Jun left immediately.
Jun and Nino started walking to the cart on the opposite side together and did a rapper dance imitation together during Sho's solo.
For Gori Muchu, the cart with Aiba, Sho, and Ohno came by us. They were all waving at the stands a lot. Jun and Nino did their silly dance on the other side and just like before Nino fell to the ground. Jun follows him a minute later. When Ohno started energy song too, Jun and Nino were clapping high fives with both hands in time to the rhythm.
The ending greeting was similar to yesterday, an easy conversation between all of them, like they had fun and wanted to make us happy. I think Sho hit his teeth on his mic or something because he rubbed his lips sheepishly when he came on the screen and smiled cutely.
Sho: we want to ask you, are you happy?
Ohno: Did you have fun? That's all that matters.
But I'll ask one more thing.
Are you hungry? (That made us all laugh too.)
Jun: The album was created so we could all have fun.
We'd like you to bring those happy feelings home with you.
Let's have fun together again. I hope you'll all have happy days in the future.
They went right into Daylight so Jun didn't give us a chance to say ehh to the last song announcement. Sho and Nino waved a lot at the audience from their spots on the main stage. When they left and we're going down on the platform Aiba blew a kiss to us.
The concert ended around 8:30. Luckily we were near an exit so we got out and to the station fast. It's great to go to Sapporo so I hope I can come next year too!
