It's sad that they had to sue just to get this done. The general consensus was that the Va would have eventually come around to adding the symbol to their list but were moving slow like most Government Agencies, but it must have been frustrating for the family of the soldier who died, who must have felt like they were being stonewalled. The fact that our tax dollars had to be paid to defend the VA dragging their feet is rather frustrating; this isn't something that should have even been an issue, not for a religious symbol already recognized by the military. In fact, one of the reasons they gave for settling the case was that the VA wanted to spare the taxpayers the expense of a longer trail. Hmm, YA THINK? Look, the person gave his life for our country, and now the family has to fight to get their religious beliefs honored properly? They should be able to get whatever fucking thing they want on their grave marker...THEY DIED FOR OUR COUNTRY! If they want George W. Bush being raped by a donkey, well...gosh, they kinda died for our country, something considered the noblest thing you can do, so...well..start a carvin', I say.
