despite the numbers 21 and 13 and constant rain, it's been a good weekend. there is absolutely nothing better than alabama/auburn. it's one of those things that will never get old, at least not for me. the company of good people will also never get old. there's always room for more, though.
i'm really proud of the way alabama played saturday and this season on the whole. we were leading at halftime in 10 of the 11 games, but depth proved fatal. we've ended up 6-5. the ncaa is smiling because that's the result of scholarship reductions. remarkably enough, the scholarships we had went to great players who have shown their ability all season. we just don't have the numbers right now. there is still a bowl game in the near future. apparently the peach bowl in atlanta is a strong candidate, but shreveport and nashville are also possibilities. either way, i want to be there. we'll see about all that mess.
unlike most around here, i always liked
bill curry.
i went to the basketball game today against north texas. nothing exciting really, but i was there.
only two days of class this week and then the thanksgiving break. that's nice. i want to see plenty of people while i'm home.
this past week wasn't too bad. it was busy enough, but nothing was particularly straining. i'd prefer it that way. lately there's been a lot more things happening that give me a positive attitude. you can all thank me later. actually, your thanks should be directed to a few select individuals.
i'm really growing tired of this livejournal bit. i don't ever really say what i want to and it gives me a headache. it's been more than two and a half years for it. maybe it's just the terrible twos.
you should acquire me an additional ticket to the muse show in nashville.
this isn't "you". ridiculous.
karla, thanks again and it was wonderful seeing you saturday, even if for only 5 minutes.
i finally got around to finishing bill bryson's the lost continent the other day and now i'm trying to chug through chuck palahniuk's fugitives and refugees. i'd like to read a book over thanksgiving. maybe more cs lewis. it's been a while.
