I am sorry it has been such a long time since I last updated. As we all know it has been a very tough time for the family what with the holidays approaching and everyone being busy. I have been overwhelmed with Finals and am pleased to say that I have finally managed to fight myself free. Today is the first official day of winter break, for which I am immensely greatful! Test upon test upon paper upon bad colds upon other sad things have made the last few weeks a severe test on my determination to stay in Japan. More than once as I have considered Christmas I feel the need to hijack the nearest plane home! j/k. But I have so far managed to overcome this by filling my time with fun diversions that only college students can think up ;).
I am leaving in a few hours for Kyushu which is Japans largest southern island and I will be spending three nights and four days, not including the two nights on the night bus. I am planning on having a blast and though my camera did not make it back in time I will buy plenty of disposables so I can capture all the moments for every one! I will be stopping in Hakata city in Fukoka prefecture, which is the biggest prefecture in KYushu, then another night in Nagasaki, and then the last night in KUmomoto which is adjacent to a lovely active volcano :) Nothing could sound more fun than that! Well I am traveling with two of my friends who unfortunately are leaving at the end of this semester for home. So it will be sad to say good bye but I am glad that we are getting to go out on this final trip together.
I have many plans for chirstmas or at least the time period surrounding christmas and I will divulge those as the break progresses. But for now I will have to leave you with this relatively short message so that I can continue packing and get on my way. I love you all and again I am sorry I haven't been a good correspondent lately. I will have plenty of time over the next few weeks to rectify that! I love you all bunches..and bunches..and bunches!
Yours always, Rebecca
P.S. Home again Home again Jiggedy Jog!
