What a weekend!

Was I busy this weekend? Yes, very! Of course this past Friday was Lauren's 16th birthday. So Friday we went to lunch at this place called "Manny's Cafe" You should go check it out!! Manny makes some good food!! It's on Hwy. 6 on the right side after you turn right from Huffmeister. It's a ways down there though. Once you see the Shell station you need to turn into that little strip center. It's in there. Anyways, so we ate there and then we went back to her house for the rest of the day and into the night because I was invited for soufflé. It is a tradation in her home and this year I was introduced to it. Her dad and sister make one mean soufflé. It was so good. The next day was Saturday and I had to work. I wasn't happy that I had to work but I convinced my boss to let me start and leave 30 minutes early. After a rough day at work I went to Lauren's for her party with all of her friends. I guess there were about 15 people there and there were only 4 guys. It was fun. Lauren's friend Chap did a little accoustic perfromance for us upstairs. She is just awesome. Then I wanted to burn a Switchfoot CD that Lauren had gotten the day before. It took me forever and Lauren wasn't happy with me because I "wasn't being social with everyone". I didn't think that the CD would take as long as it did. I used 2 different comouters and still couldn't get it to work. Finally, Lauren suggested we go swimming. I was happy when she said that. So I got changed into my board shorts and went outside before everyone. My friend and her neighbor Shane came outside to join me. He wasn;t sure if he could do a backflip or not but he landed one his first try off the diving board. I wanted to do one so badly. I mean I could do an easy front flip but I couldn't do a backflip. He was telling me what I needed to do and so I started to work on doing one. I looked scary doing it because everytime I would be upside-down, I would twist out of it and just dive in. It took me about 15 tries at it and then I finally pulled one off. It was scary. The whole thing to doing a backflip is trusting yourself. When I finally started to trust myself, I was doing backflips left and right. My last backflip of the night though was scary. I didn't jump far enough away from the diving board and I hit my hand on the board. I figured that I was just getting tired so I stopped doing them. We went inside and talked for awhile and then I left around 11:45 so that I could make curfew. Yesterday, I didn't have to work so I went to 249. It was awesome and we had a substitute speaker because Chris is down in Puerto Rico with others on a mission trip. Mr. Bill was cool though. We didn't get out of 249 until about 12:20 but it was cool. Lauren called me and told me that she was at the circus. That was her b-day gift from Chap, Jenn, and Katie. I just chilled around the house most of the day. Around 8 Lauren called and told me that I needed to bring her Switchfoot CD back and that I needed to meet her cousin. So I went over there and gave her the CD back and met her cousin in the process. I stayed about 45 minutes and then went home. That was pretty much my weekend. It was exciting and fun. On Friday, I gave Lauren a necklace that I bought on Wednesday. I wasn't sure how to give it to her until Molly told me that I should get down on one knee and give it to her. I knew that if I did that...she would freak out. I did one better though because I didn't want Lauren to think that I was proposing to her. I went into her bathroom and got a blindfold and blindfolded Lauren so that she couldn't see what I was doing. So I pulled the box out of my pocket and opened it and after I did Molly took the blindfold off Lauren. She fell in love with it as I knew she would. I know that what I did was kinda scary but I wasn't proposing. Too early for that. We are too young to be doing anything like that.

Lauren, I'm glad that you had an awesome weekend with all your family and friends for your Sweet 16. I'm glad that you love the necklace that I gave you. I love you more than anything in the world!!! -Ry
