in no particular order
1) DJ Gigs
Tons of them this year from the Troc in Philadelphia, Soundclash @ the Marx Cafe, Monday Nights @ Asylum, Random Nights @ Ottobar, and occasional Shorty's gig.
2) Ready Steady Go! gigs
Not as many as previous years but the band has never sounded better. And everything the band itself has gone through this year and part of last year has made all the gigs we played this year really special.
3) Poker
This year I played in my first poker tournament, played numerous times @ RSG poker nights @ Dan's house, played online.
4) Poetry
Something clicked this year for me and I started writing again. Started making random poetry submissions to magazines again. My poetry blog is chuck full of new entries almost weekly.
5)Friends
Especially the ones that stuck around and gave me their ear when I went through ending a sort of relationship with someone I was insanely close to.
6) Trailer Park Boys
Ok this cooky Canadian show aired on BBC my friend Ally got me into this show years ago but some new friends of mine are so obsessed with this night they host random TPB nights in Towson. It's been fun going over their place and just hanging out, drinking some brews, and laughing at those crazy canucks!
7) Podcast
2006 was a big year for my podcast. Mobtown Ska Sounds remaians an innovator in the podcast world and very popular. I get emails and comments on the show weekly. People from all across the globe can listen to and enjoy the music I put up. Also met some great people through podcasts.
8) Reggae Got Soul
Thought this deserved its own spot. My night RGS began @ the Ottobar began in July. We did 4 shows this year @ the Ottobar each one got great turnouts thanks to a number of my friends for helping me set up the shows and coming out to support me. Big ups!
9) Booze
Thank you for all your help this year. Screw you for aiding in those bad decisions too.
10) My Apartment
What can be said about you. Sometimes our living room still has a scent of a dog that never lived here since we moved in. We've had many ups and downs but Merrill has been a nice place overall. Despite the set backs our 4th of July party was most righteous!
