So I was driving to write my first article for
http://baltimore.metromix.com this new website I'm working on as a freelance writer. I am on Eastern Ave and suddenly BANG my car gets t-boned by a grand marQ. My small Kia did not stand a chance by the guy running the stop sign. My head hits the dash, while my chin smacks into the steering wheel. I felt like shit my glasses were gone. I look up and all I see is smoke and my cars smells like oil. I turn off my engine and jump out just to gain a sort of consciousness. Getting it like this you suddenly don't know where you are. I am like Holy Shit what just happened? A few hours later I realize my car is gone nothing left completely wrecked.
The worst part of the day invovled hours later of me waiting in the emergency room at St Agnes hospital. I have a neck brace on. Ice pack on my head. I have 3 giant bruises on my head and face. I also discovered one of my back teeth are cracked a nerve seems to be exposed. A jolting feeling rushes through my swollen jaw as I sipped a cold soda from a vending machine.
We waited about 7 hours to complete the visit, the waiting room is packed full of interesting people. During a smoke break I stumbled onto a businessman who hadn't been able to go to the bathroom for a week due to a problem with his colon. He did not look too happy or upbeat about anything.
I realize things could be alot worse so I am not going to complain about anything. I am ok. I am out of work for a couple days. I feel better that my back or neck is not seriously damaged. I do have a really sore neck and a stiff back that hopefully will not last much longer. My crack tooth is hopefully going to be fixed by a dentist tomorrow. I got tons of reading done in the past two days and I'm slowly cranking out some submissions to a poetry online zine that I've been dying to submit to.
Whoa condfidence. Also tons of my new poems here...
