Best Dressed Chicken In Town
I never cease to amaze myself. I know it feels great to be on the crest of bad times because eventually you know it is just pure physics that good times will happen soon. This weekend was the final motion i really needed. I cannot list or believe how many old friends came out to the show on saturday. Seeing Kat, Will, RD, AJ, John from Dr. Zauis, Mario, Tom, Ben ,Darrel, Bob. It was very wierd when so many people you know congregate at the same show. I seriously felt so happy before going to the show and it just carried throughout the night. I met some new friends that are just amazing. So all in all the show was great. I mean I haven't even said anything about the bands. It was truly more about hanging out with people then really seeing the bands. I mean besides the great atmosphere it was 3 amazing bands that played.
The rootworkers are seriously becoming the best band to play reggae music. It seriously amazing how few shows these guys have played and how amazing they sound. Slackers played some amazing old stuff opening with "feed my girl" and then playing a set with heavy swing toward their older material. The pietasters put down one of their best sets I remember. Their new songs just blow me away. Sweet rocksteady sounds to groove to.
I had to get new glasses today due to some dick wanting to sucker punch me during the pietasters set. So I needed new glasses anyways this was a great excuse. Some great shows coming up in the next couple months lee perry, go jimmy go, pietasters, etc. I also cannot stop finding some great values at the local record store so I am spending way too much on records. A couple more weeks til s-clash as well.
