Thanks so much for writing this part :) I liked the way you used Bobby's insecurities over loving a man. I think it's a fresh take on him. Bobby's character is a very hetero, you know? So I like that you wrote a story showing his struggle to overcome his own preconceptions of what is normal and should be. I think it came together very well, thanks again for giving in to us ;)
In the movie, Bobby seems to be struggling with himself. Like one part of him is the brash, angry young man who tries to come across as aggressively hetero, though one who has a hard time finding a girlfriend. they do make a point of showing in several ways, that Bobby is very much alone most of the time.
So in examining that, my thoughts were that the side that's only hinted at very carefully, very subtlely, is that Bobby struggles with the concept of being gay, and of being with Jack. Everything in his world, where he's from implies that he must be tough and strong to survive, where the concept of loving a man in any sense other than family would be unthinkable to him. And then to find himself in love with Jack, more than a brother, I think would frighten him into pretending that the girl is what he wants, or rather, what he should want.
