Generic Meditation Issues: The Heart of Stillness

When I included Rabbi David A. Cooper in my "interests,"  I was surprised to find that no one else had done so.  I found this incredible! Cooper is a Kabbala student, but also a student of the meditative and mystical traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam.  His first book, so far the only one I have read, was a masterpiece in eclectic meditation.  If your adventures in western spirituality have been disappointing but you are unwilling to go all the way east, I strongly recommend this book: The Heart of Stillness: The Elements of Spiritual Discipline.    In 241 pages he provided me with most of what I need to know about meditation, from mastering the ego to uniting with the One.  It will surely be in my top ten list for reading on meditation, maybe in third place, and if I were less biased about The Cloud of Unknowing and the Tao te Ching, maybe in first place.
