Abu-Said Abil-Kheir - Love came and emptied me of self

Love came and emptied me of self,
every vein and every pore,
made into a container to be filled by the Beloved.
Of me, only a name is left,
the rest is You my Friend, my Beloved.

Poetry Chaikhana | Abu-Said Abil-Kheir - Love came and emptied me of self

There are so many Sufis among my favorite poets that I tend to forget many of them. These five lines were all i needed to remind me how much i love the poetry of Abu-Saud Abil-Khier. I find it miraculous that people who claim to find their truth in the texts of the Abrahamic religions produce such powerful mysticism and poetry. Some people say that only Moslems can become Sufis; others say that Sufism is much broader than Islam. I tend to agree with the latter

he who loses his life will save it., sacred poetry. sufism, abu-said abil-kheir. non-duality
