Paradoxes
(1) Carrying body and soul and embracing the one,
Can you avoid separation?
(2) Attending fully and becoming supple,
Can you be as a newborn babe?
(3) Washing and cleansing the primal vision,
Can you be without stain?
(4) Loving all men and ruling the country,
Can you be without cleverness?
(5) Opening and closing the gates of heaven,
Can you play the role of woman?
(6)Understanding and being open to all things,
Are you able to do nothing?
Giving birth and nourishing,
Bearing yet not possessing,
Working yet not taking credit,
Leading yet not dominating,
This is the Primal Virtue.

(1) Can i carry body and soul
and embrace the One
while avoiding separation?
The answer is: "Yes!"
I don't know how it is done,
but it is done.
so it can be done,
if i can accept it.
(4) The answer is the same
for four of the other questions.
But the answer to question four
is progably "No!"
At least i have never seen or
heard of it being done.
The trick word there is "ruling."
Loving and ruling are not paradoxical.
They are incompatable.
St Francis of Assisi knew this.
The drunks who started AA knew this.
All the enlightened mystics know this.
Followers of the Tao know this.
But how can their be government
without governors/
That's not a question that troubles me.
.I think i can answer "yes" to the other questions
(2) Being fully attentive and like a newborn babe?
Necessary! And easy if i'm humble.
(3) polishing the mirror of perception
without getting "dirty?."
Of course i can
if i am open and honest.
(5) Opening the gates of heaven
while acting like a woman?
How else could it be done?
(Rabia would have burned them down.)
(6) Openness and stillness?
Aren't they twins?
Primal virtue?
Before "the fall??
Will we ever rise again???
