Spiritual Meme Question Fourteen
14-- Talk about dysphoria (social, bodily, etc) in relation to your own gender id. Do you experience it? If so, how, and what means do you take to fight it? What kind of affects does it have on your mental life? What would you say to others who have dysphoria too?
My first reaction was to skip these questions. I am a heterosexual, white male who was always about as comfortable with who i was as decency and conscience would allow.
But i knew that i was "strange." And various labels were placed upon that strangeness by myself and by others. When, at age 74, i began to apply the label, "autistic" to my self. i was finally "at ease" with a label that "fit." I became almost "euphoric." Does that mean that i was dysphoric before? Probably not, but.........
