They have been announcing this new reality show on cable tv here in mexico named "Quebec a la carte".
I really despise Reality shows. I think that along Talk shows (with very few exceptions) are the most low type of entertainment on TV.
But after seeing the ads I though that it could be interesting. More like a documentary and less than "see X loser doing stupid things on camera".
This show will be hosted by Michele Ravilet who I don't have a clue who she is and she will bring a group of mexican "celebrities" to many parts of quebec and share the culture to mexican viewers and stuff.
Said celebrities are:
Diego shoening - a former member of a kids band named "Timbiriche". Said band lasted nearly 10 years before the members parted away with solo careers. From that band, the only one that had success was Paulina Rubio and Thalia. The rest? well they made telenovelas, being in drugs and like Diego, they make ads for the Ace detergent. Yeah pretty sad ¬¬
Hector Soberon - Another Telenovela actor *yawns*
Ricky luis - He was famous on the 80's thanks to a song he performed named "Tengo un mes con el mismo pantalon (y que?)" or in english "I have a month with the same pants (so what?)" Hey don't judge, the 80's were weird =P Now? He hosted some radios shows or something.
Ximena Ayala - She made some mexican movies of the typical low neigborhood girl that everybody treated like a door mat. The only movie I saw from her was "Perfume de violetas". Not exactly a good movie honestly.
Claudio Yarto - on the very very very early 90's he was the leader of a Rap group named "Calo". Then after mid 90's he dissapeared and now he tries to go back to the limelight with ...the same group and I suppose this show.
And other losers I don't know very well.
So far typical Reality show crap.
The show itself is Ok. But unfortunately they lost a lot of time being silly, giving bad jokes and the like. The show lasts like 30 minutes and more than the half is wasted on that and less in seeing actual Quebec.
For example, I saw one with Ximena Ayala, where she and the hostess went to a place in the woods fill with snow and wild animals. The first half were saying things like "aaaw a caribou!" and "wow is so cold" over and over again. Then they arrived to the cabin and received a massage *yawns* and finally left in a snow motorcycle.
That was all. 30 minutes of that!
I found this on Youtube with the Yarto dude and is a little better showing Quebec city. Unfortunatley they act very bad, the jokes are dumb and I wanted to see more of the city.

I wanted to watch that show. Too bad they used that format =( why they didn't used a documentary/mockumentary format? that would be much fun.
oh well...so far that's the only way I have to know quebec/canada.
