SeanJohnWngr: Dude, what the fuck. When are you going to give the dying public information on your sure to be multi-aluminum selling album?
Bobbo946: ...

If you actually clicked this link, you did it accidentilly or are feigning interest in my behalf. But nonetheless, here comes the information on the soon to be completed Bobbo cd.

I changed the name of the CD, yet again... This makes the 4th different name it's had.. though I'm sure I'll stick with this one. The album is named Frank, the Inebriated Snowman. I got the name after yesterday's awesome fun in the snow. Shayna and Jaimee's snowman that they made looked slightly drunk, and I came up with it right then. The cover is just a picture of said snowman... (I had planned on unveiling the cover picture instead of just describe it, but my camera is upstairs, so meh...)

Anyway, without further ado...

Frank, the Inebriated Snowman track list...

01 - Intro (0:45)
voice: Bobbo
background music: Metallica
--No surprises, it's just the intro...

02 - Snake Eyes (4:35)
written by: Bobbo
guitar/bass/drums: Bobbo
--The main guitar riff was one of the first ones I ever wrote when I was in my writing phase back in May or June or so. One of my first months in college, between classes, I took time to write a complete song of it using Guitar Pro. I've played it so much that I could probably play it with my guitar upside down and my eyes closed. It's, in my opinion, the most complete song that I put on here, which is why I have it leading off.

03 - Six-String Demolition (4:06)
written by: Bobbo
guitar/bass/drums: Bobbo
--This one did appear on Cheez Doodles, but because I made a couple other renditions of the song that I included on this album, it was important to include the base track. That, and I just like this track. It's probably the best one that I've recorded myself, certainly the best song I've written in this young stage in of my writing life.

04 - Seven Nation Army [featuring Bijolly] (4:03)
written by: White Stripes
bass/drums/vocals/guitar solo: Bobbo
guitar: Bijolly
--It's funny because everyone I know is so sick of this song. We played it and put it on here just to spite them all... that and it's inconceivably easy to play. It's so easy to play that I can play it in about 3 different keys. But not much is good about this version of the song. The tempo is faster than the original and I did that intentionally. The bass and guitar parts are good. But when I did the guitar solo, I did it in a hurry and didn't tune my guitar. So during the solo, if you try to listen for it, you can tell that I'm out of tune. Also, this was the first track that I added vocals to, so naturally they suck. Give this track one listen just to see, and skip it every other time.

05 - Rage Bomber (8:24)
written by: Rage Against the Machine
arranged by: Bobbo
guitar/bass/drums/vocals: Bobbo
medley includes: "Bombtrack", "Killing in the Name", "Settle For Nothing", "Know Your Enemy", "Freedom", "Bulls on Parade", "Guerrilla Radio", "Sleep Now in the Fire", "New Millenium Homes", "Ashes in the Fall", "Down on the Street", ending to "Freedom"
--When I was writing down ideas of what to do for another album, I wanted to include my own tribute to my all-time favorite band (god knows how much they've influenced me in music). So I compiled an arrangement of Rage songs that I knew how to play, and it was a good idea... before I actually got it down. I'm going to catch hell for this, I know it... and it shows on the song. At the time I was recording most of the parts to this song, my distortion pedal didn't have a battery. So throughout a lot of this song, I play it on a clean guitar. Tom Morello would smack me down for sure. No more is the lack of distortion more evident than on the snippet of Bulls on Parade. Playing the lead in riff without disortion sounds ungodly (but that was me playing too, so that might be it). Also, I dulled down the drums so much trying to layer the files that it's almost not there, which sucks. My very few vocals suck, but that's nothing startling. And another thing, you can blatantly tell where I stopped and started and layered. I almost just want to redo this entire thing, but then I think about how much work went into it (read: a lot) and I change my mind. Can't do it this late in the game.
Now for all the bad things, it has it's moments for me. I like the way "Settle For Nothing", the uber concise snippet of "Sleep Now in the Fire", "Down on the Street", and the ending pretty good. It's worth your time, but definitely go listen to Rage instead of this.

06 - Iron Man (Tiki version) [featuring Bijolly] (0:30)
written by: Black Sabbath
keyboard: Bijolly
guitar: Bobbo
--We were goofing off when he started playing Iron Man on random keyboard voices. I just happened to catch it when he had it on the Tiki drums setting. It's just there as an interlude type deal, amusing for someone familiar with the song.

07 - Smells Like Purple Haze (Lefty Guitarists) [featuring Markie Mark] (2:08)
written by: Nirvana/Jimi Hendrix
arranged by: Markie Mark
guitar/bass: Bobbo
drum: Markie Mark
medley includes: "Smells Like Teen Sprit", "Purple Haze"
--I was jamming with Mark when we were talking about good left-handed guitarists. I literally had named off just Kurt and Jimi and he says "We should do a combination Teen Spirit/Purple Haze song". We didn't have a lot of time though, seeing that I was only in Lincoln for that day... and I knew both songs on guitar and he didn't, so I took the six-string while he was throwin it down on drums. I actually like this one. It's a great transition that Mark put down, and I did my thing that sounded tolerable at best. Heh. I actually musta done it good, because when Ryan heard it he said "Boy, it sounds like he knows what he's doing" before I told him that it was me shredding guitar. I'll take that as a compliment.

08 - We're Fucked (3:28)
written by: Bobbo
guitar/drums/vocals: Bobbo
--I had just heard George Bush's State of the Union address when I was so pissed at him.. So I ran into my room, stayed there for 2 hours and wrote a Bush-bashing song. Overall, I thought I did an ok job putting together pretty good lyrics. But I felt like the vocals were a bit forced, like trying to slam a circle peg through an octagonal hole. I relate it much, vocally, to the style of "L-Town", which isn't that good. It's obvious that this one wasn't given much thought outside of the lyrics, but hey... I hate Bush, so it works.

09 - Hardest Button to Button [featuring Bijolly] (3:20)
written by: White Stripes
bass/drums/vocals: Bobbo
guitar: Bijolly
--Easiest bassline ever. I like how the bass came out. Ryan messed up a bit on the guitar, and it sounds a bit too soft, but it's good. I did the vocals a couple weeks ago, and I actually like the way they came out, kinda. Well, at least better than "Seven Nation Army" came out. I messed up at the end of the second verse because I forgot the words to it. Listenable.

10 - White Stripes (2:35)
written by: White Stripes
arranged by: Bobbo
guitar/drums: Bobbo
medley includes: "Canon", "I Think I Smell a Rat", "Black Math"
Yes, yet another White Stripes song. What can I say, I like the White Stripes. They're an extremely artistic band. The story behind this came when I was noodling around (as many things do). I discovered how to play "Canon". And the setting I had on the disortion pedal was perfectly matched to what Jack White used. I thought about just doing the complete "Canon" song, but there was no way I was going to be able to even come close to Jack White on the vocals. Instead, I matched it with two other Stripes' songs that I knew how to play. I like the way "Canon" and "I Think I Smell a Rat Came Out", but the drum rhythm I set for "Black Math" was too fast to put a second riff on each of the chords, like I was supposed to so it sounds a bit empty. I also think I did "Black math" a bit too long. But it's an alright trio.

11 - Brilliant! [featuring JJ] (0:27)
voices: Bobbo/JJ
--My group of friends and I recite the "Brilliant!" line of Guinness commercials so many times, I figured one would make for a great interlude. Using Guinness promos for an interlude on a cd? BRILLIANT!

12 - Mr. Roboto [featuring Bijolly, JJ, Pete, and the Bopeinator) (4:37)
written by: Styx
keyboard: Bijolly
guitar/drums/2nd lead vocal: Bobbo
1st lead vocal: JJ
additional vocals: the Bopeinator/Pete)
--There was a time from November and December where this was our group's theme song. I carried my laptop everywhere blasting the tune. And whenever we go to the bowling alley in St. J, it's become accustomed to play this on the jukebox there to relive good times. It's with that in mind that I wrote this idea down to do. I had really absolutely no intention of actually having this done seeing that it's Mr. freaking Roboto... ... But I mention it to Ryan and I give him a copy of guitar tabs to him and tell him just to hit the keys along with my guitar line. We tried to play it together the first time and struggled pretty badly. I had every intention dropping the song... until Ryan IM'd me the next morning and said "I got it." ... He had stayed up listening to "Mr. Roboto" over and over and figured out the entire thing. And not only did he figure it out, by god he nailed it, note for note. Needless to say, I was impressed. So we record the drumline, throw down the geet/key part, throw that together and it... sounded... awesome. A bonafide Mr. Roboto cover.
Now, the vocals have not been recorded yet, and that'll make or break this song. I mean, as it is.. if the vocals can match the goodness of the music, this will be the strongest track on this entire album. I'm optimistic. And this one will definitely be worth your 4:37.

13 - Dirty Window [featuring Markie Mark] (5:04)
written by: Metallica
guitar: Markie Mark
drums: Bobbo
--Mark is a big fan of Metallica, as was I, and we share the same opinion on the St. Anger album (decent in some places), and we both agreed that "Dirty Window" was the only really good track off of it. So I told him to learn it and we'd put it on the cd. He thought it was cool... only problem was he fudged up in a couple places, and so did I (mine are definitely more noticable though).. but we decided we werent going to re-record it.
"Dirty Window" is a right-foot killer. My foot was so tired after smacking the bass drum that quickly for 5 minutes. I think this song exemplifies my ability on drums, which I think is a strong suit of mine (moreso than the guitar). As for the song, my computer doesn't pick up distortion that well at all, so the song sounds really gritty and sludgy.
A big decision occured too. To do the vocals, or not to do the vocals. Mark had already said "No way, Jose". So if I wanted to do it, I could. I thought about it, and recorded the vocals. ... Put it together, decided to include them... A day or two went by and I hated how it sounded so I decided there would be no vocals. ... Just last week, I figure I'd give it another try and try it a little differently. I did it, put it together... and left it. Just today, I listened to it again and didn't like it... So now it's back to an instrumental version, and I think it's going to stay that way. I'm no thrash singer. Nu-metal and hard rock is doable for me if needed, but that kind of song I just cant do vocally. I think the song changes enough musically to keep the flow on it's toes, but I feel like without vocals, it's going to be a bit boring.

14 - Six-String Demolition (Piece of Wood with Metal Strings version) (4:28)
written by: Bobbo
guitar: Bobbo
--One of the different versions of the song I did. If you want to call it a "semi-live version" you can because I said to myself that I'm going to throw it down and leave it, mistakes or not. I probably should've advise against that because I had a major mistake in the song, quite noticable (going into the bridge when I'm trying to slow down the tempo, I fuck up .. and then fuck up again trying to amend it.. >_<). The song is alright, but without the drums it's a bit repetitive.

15 - The Grooveless Shall Be Groovin' (2:13)
written by: Lenny Kravitz/Bobbo
bass/guitar/drums: Bobbo
--This song plays off of the funk-piece "Straight Cold Prayer" by Lenny Kravitz. I look at this song as sort of a re-worked version of it. I amended a couple of notes, added a new section, and variated it a little differently. I wish I could've done something more with it, but that's all I could do.. and thus why it's a concise 2:13... to avoid repetition.

16 - Down [featuring JJ] (3:21)
written by: Stone Temple Pilots
lead guitar/lead vocals: JJ
rhythm guitar/drums/additional vocals: Bobbo
--Jason and I love this song.
...and we actually haven't recorded this one either, but it should be decent, hopefully.

17 - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap [featuring Bijolly and Pete] (3:31)
written by: AC/DC
guitar/drums/lead vocal: Bobbo
additional guitar: Bijolly
additional vocals: Pete
--This song didn't come out as rustic as I was hoping, so it doesn't quite sound like AC/DC's version, but sometimes you have to have your own impressions on cover songs, so. I like the drumming I did for this song, but the guitars are ... well ... not the quality spotlight of this song. Ryan and I weren't always in sync with each other and sometimes we fell behind the beat. Why we didn't re-record is beyond me. The vocals are amusing though. I'm bad at Bon Scott, but Pete yelling "Done dirt cheap" is good.

18 - 2:37 AM (3:30)
written by: Bobbo
guitar/drums: Bobbo
--A couple weeks ago at 2:00 in the morning, I said to myself "I want to play right now and I don't care who I annoy". So that's exactly what I did.
Now, when I'm just jamming and noodling, it's when I come up with some of my best stuff. And a lot of times I end up forgetting what I was noodling on the next day. So when I was writing down ideas, I said I want one song where I just push record and jam away and see what comes out. The result is "2:37 AM". It doesn't really deem well on some of my better written jam tunes, but it's good. I like the correlation between the riffs. I recorded the guitar part first, which isn't a good idea because I ended up chaning my tempo at least 3 times. So when I was putting down the drumline for it, I had to inadvertantly slow down, then speed up. It took me 35 minutes to put this all together, at which then the current time was 2:37. Title born.
I actually was not bugged by my neighbors nor the landlord for my midnight ruckus, that's always a plus.

19 - Pea (1:47)
written by: Flea
bass/vocals: Bobbo
--I've always viewed me making cds as a way to show off my musical talent but also to humor people. With a little bit of a lack of humor, I decided to put the bass-and-vocal "Pea" on. Right after I did it, I let Josh listen to it. He said that my vocals in this song sound like a cross between Eric Cartman and Adam Sandler. And after Pete listened to it, he also agreed with that assumption. I'll take that as a compliment.

20 - Jeter (1:56)
written by: Bobbo
guitar/drums/vocal: Bobbo
--This song ended up being rewritten 3 times. The first one was a Red Sox bashing song called "1918" ... and then they won. So I had to rewrite it in the form of another Red Sox bashing song that I wrote the day after Hell froze over. But because they're the World Champs (god, that hurts to say), I didn't have a leg to stand on. So then I rewrote in the fashion of a tribute to the Yankees, but it inevitably turned into a tribute to Derek Jeter. Because I had spent so much time on the lyrics to the song, I didn't have a lot of resolve to write an incorporating rhythm. So I just put the pieces into "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". The vocals for this song are so fucked up. I go through 3 different styles without even noticing it. I thought about not including this one, but I need this song on here... to represent my endearing fanatacism for the Bronx Bombers.

21 - Six-String Demolition (Brutal Beatdown version) (2:18)
written by: Bobbo
drums/bass: Bobbo
--When I was coming up with different variations of this song, I said I wanted one completely different from the other ones. The result of which was the Brutal Beatdown version. The irony in this song is that this version of "Six String Demolition" does not even use a six-string. It's all drums and distorted bass. When I finished all my versions of "Demolition", this one was the stand-out favorite of mine. Ph33r my distorted bassliness.

22 - Session [featuring Bijolly] (4:30)
voices: Bobbo/Bijolly
guitar: Bobbo
keyboard: Bijolly
--Inside the studio, per se. It's really just a noodling jam session we had together. We go over some short songs, leading off with a little bit of "Stairway to Heaven". You can also hear me break a string on "Offend in Every Way". It's an amusing listen, I think.

23 - The Sixth Fantasy (Final Fantasy VI Medley) (7:45)
written by: Nobuo Uemetsu
arranged by: Bobbo
lead guitar/rhythm guitar/bass/drums: Bobbo
medley includes: "Terra", "Kefka", "Epitath", "the Veldt", "Zozo", "Shadow"
--Far and away, best song on this cd, in my opinion. And this song was not on the playlist until 6 days ago. I was playing Final Fantasy VI with the volume on (which is amazing seeing that I always keep it on mute and listen to my own music). And I was to the point when Vector was being burned when I had an epiphany: I should learn how to play some FF6 tunes and put them in a medley. I had no intention of putting it on the cd, but it'd be fun to do. And it was amazing. I found a tab site, got tabs to 6 songs, learned them, mastered them, arranged them in a medley, recorded them, and put them together in the span of 2 hours. And when it came out, I was so marveled at how good it came out (and I'm my own worst critic) that I said "This is going on the cd".
I like "Epitath", though I should've had the rhythm guitar part play through the entire thing instead of stopping. I also love how the tom-toms came out on "the Veldt". "Zozo" was definitely the most fun to play. I did it a little differently than the game and added a jazzier drumline to it, and it really amps it up. I love it. I also like how "Shadow" came out, though I think I made the bass too present. True that it is an impertenent part of the song, but I think it takes away from the lead part. I also hit a wrong note on the bass and that really shows.
I saved the best for last, in my opinion.

24 - Outro (1:00)
voice: Bobbo
background music: Metallica
--No surprises, just the outro...

Songs and Song Ideas Left Out
Six-String Demolition (Save on the Electric Bill version) ... Basically just an acoustic version. I thought (Piece of Wood with Metal Strings) was done better and I didn't need two of generally the same song on the cd.
False Anarchy ... It was going to be a song about how so many bands today claim to be "anarchist". This one never really got off the ground though.
Supercallifragilisticexpialidocious ... It was supposed to be a heavy-metal version of the Mary Poppins' song. And the only thing that stopped me ... would you believe that a set of lyrics for this song does not exist anywhere on the internet?
Enter the Chipmunk ... It was to be a guitar and flute song, with Bopha taking the flute part. But after writing some more stuff, it just got snuffed out because it didn't have enough content.
#@!*$ ... True to it's name, it was going to be a song just full of swears. But after realizing how pedestrian that would be, it was axed.
Feuer Frie! ... Couldn't get the drumline down. That and I just didn't want to butcher the German language in my attempts to sing it.
Acapella ... Ironically, the idea of this song was to have it, not only not be acapella, but have no vocals at all. Unfortunately, the song didn't have an ending in time so it had to be left out. It might appear if I ever have another recording session though.
I Hate Your Boyrfriend ... This song would defenitely would've been included if I had written it earlier, especially how the idea was popular among some of my peeps. Instead, it'll probably be just a mp3 single for Valentine's Day.... and if asked, I would include it as a single with the cd.

Rejected Album Titles
Bobbo ... No, because self-title albums are boring
*Insert Interesting Album Title Here* ... Thought of something better
Dial "M" For "Motherfucker" ... A) Couldn't swear on an album title ... B) Pussy Galore actually already used that album title for one of their albums, which is uber-ironic
A Light That'll Bring Me to the End of Time ... Nope, Just a Car ... When I was hanging out with Ryan, he uttered those words when he saw a car coming down his road. I laughed hysterically, and thought it'd be good. I slept on it, and decided not.
Quizzical Quizzes and Testical Tests ... A) Couldn't think of a corresponding cover .. B) Overused joke...

So, there you have it... You may not have wanted it, but there you have it.

This goes for everyone, despite location.. (there has been a revolutionary new idea called "mail" that allows one person to make cd's and send to people not in their immediate area. BRILLIANT!) ... I'm taking orders so I know how many to burn... so, if you would like a copy of this abomination, feel free to let me comment here and/or email me and/or IM me. For people who dont live in the immediate area, a forewording address is required (email it to Bobbo947@hotmail.com, or IM Bobbo946 on AIM) ... The cd is free and I'm willing to pay for shipping, so if you want one, get one...

Anyway... enough of this, I'm off to bed...
