Is it Winter or Not?

So far, it's been a good couple days in So-Flo, as it's been called (yes, that is "southern Florida" for those clueless). Yesterday was the obligatory chill day, most of which was filled with my dad and I getting rid of a lot of the spyware on my computer and setting up the network. My dad worked today, but Erin, Addie, my step mom, and I went to the beach in Pampano. I didn't do any swimming, just lazing about in the sand and parusing for Floridian chicks, although it seemed like all the beautiful people had the day off or something. I guess we're going to go to Sarasota on Saturday... what's in Sarasota, you got me.. but it should be fun anyway.

I'm still having a huge problem adjusting to the weather situation. I've been programmed to think "January = fucking cold" or "January = snow"... and "Warm and nice = June..."  .... So basically, the last 2 days, and certainly the rest of this week, it's June. It'll be the only year that goes "June, February, March..." ... I even told myself that it was June and believed myself when I was at the beach. That just confused my mind even more... I guess it's supposed to be the best week of the entire "winter" here, so we picked a good time to come down.

And it's because I've lived in the North Country for so long that I didn't notice this until my dad pointed it out... There was a commercial for a ski equipment store. For those that may have forgotten, I am right next to Miami at the southern end of Florida. ... So, a ski equipment store in Miami is just one of the most bizarre establishments you could imagine.

florida, weather, winter
