Can't Stop the Train of Time...
Just because this is the final (full) week of school, doesn't mean that it's going by any slower by any means. Tuesday has already come and gone. 3 days to go before Seniors' Week.... It's all still so mystifying to me... and while I'm sitting back to realize just how much time has passed, another day is gone before my eyes. It's just really so dumbfounding how much we take time for granted, and how fast it actually does go despite how often we think it's going too slow.. ... murrrr... Time needs to take a day off or something...
Anyway, Sunday was my first day back at work in a good couple of weeks. I had to work with the Harry Potter crowd.. oi... let's not get started on it. But it could've been worse... I didn't have a kid come up to me and say "I would like so popcorn to consume, and if you do not appease me I shall turn you into a toad. Kazooly kazee!!".. (note: yes, this actually DID happen.. sad to say.. during the 2nd Harry Potter movie)...
Tuesday came and went... I can definitely feel the school year winding down, especially with the atmosphere in English class. .. it's hard to explain... it's kinda like having "spring fever".. YOu know, it's so close and you just want to get out.... But I have to keep my head in the class for the remaining days... I'm not doing so hot in that class right now .. and I have good old Billy Shakespeare to blame... Honestly, the man may have been a visionary and a wealth of a poet and playrwrite in his time... but it's not his time anymore... I barely understand a word he writes... So when Mrs. Pinkham is explaining what we read, i'm usually thinking "... that's what it means? ... guess i was wrong >_>"... .. anyway, i think there's about 2 more big tests to take and I need to do well on them to get a decent grade... because I'm sure I'll get a couple of people wondering what i'm doing as an english major with a English grade of a C (or less... >_>; )
"Co-Cirricular" Awards were tonight.. and for lack anything better to do, I decided to go and accept my cheesy "OMG Yuo Participated in teh play" certificate.. But i guess I got something else as well.. For being a dramatist for 4 years, I received the senior award.. It's been a long time since I've received a "real" award, per se... But it was cool. I felt .. somewhat special, even if it was for drama...
One of my children died tonight! ;-;..... That is to say that, true.. I have 252 other children, but I can't live without one of them... but i have myself to blame... I took my "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" (Red Hot Chili Peppers) out of my cd player, set it on my seat, got up to get a drink, sat down.. and i heard snap!... .... ... I knew what it was right away... and how much of a moron I was... ... and it did not bode well for me considering that A) I was going to listen to it just then while i watched the basketball game... and B) I had "The Righteous and the Wicked" stuck in my head all day and this was a chance to listen to it to get it out... ... but this one was resolved as I ran to my computer, downloaded "Righteous and the Wicked" and listened to it twice... while I was at it, I grabbed the entire track list from Grokster so once I get some blank cds, "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" can be re-born... granted that it's not the same, but still...
Will the madness ever cease? while watching the NBA Finals on ABC, I've seen commercials for 3... 3! ... new reality shows, none of which are really that inventive from the next.. in fact, i can't seem to see the difference in any of them at all anymore .. (not that i ever could)... But I've seen one called "Wife Swap"... or "Swapping Wives" or something... I take it that it's about guys swapping wives to "rekindle the romance" or whatever... another one i saw was "Desperate Housewives"... i take it that that's about housewives that are desperate.... then there was some "Benefactor" thing, or something... which is just like the "You're Fired" one with Donald Trump on NBC.. bunch of nobodys join some rich man's firm... if he wins, whoa.. he wins a million bucks... good for him.. The commercial for "The Benefactor" was followed by a commercial for Cialis....
... What a fucking society we live in... a society where boring, redundant, "reality" shows are popular.. and a new sex drug -- that give you a bigger shaft... fuller knockers... and stimulation... ... -- comes out every week... Fuck that.. It's no society I want to be apart of...
