I could make this post all about how this is my second Valentine's Day without a "special someone" and that it sucks beyond compare. Or I could make this a post about my failure in attaining another girlfriend since the loss of mine years ago. I could also make this one complaining about the basis of the holiday, saying that even if I had a girlfriend, or "valentine", to celebrate it with, it's just a capitalistic gimmick and/or a Hallmark conspiracy to take advantage of the love-mongering fools who are led as sheep into giving up their money for a half-assed "annual day of love"....
But I'm not going to... because it's all been said before... you don't want to hear any more shit from me...
Though, there really isn't much else to say... Barely did anything at all today besides worked. Woke up at 11:00 (lazy me) only to go to work in the ticket office for the matinee... afterward, hung around the theater and removed all the lighbulbs from the canopy above the theater entrance and replaced them with fresh flourescent bulbs... (FYI, there's about 27 lightbulbs, so it ate up some time)... It's a whole lot brighter with the new flourescents than with the old ones. I'm not sure the last time those light bulbs were even changed, so it's a whole lot better. Anyway, didn't get home until quarter of 5 which didn't leave exactly a whole lot of time to do anything. Hopped on the computer for an hour, read a little bit in Dr. Faustus... (Marlowe was really fucked up >_>) .. and hit up a little bit of guitar.
THEN, oh boy, get to go to work again! Got to serve the Valentines crowd. ... nothing really exciting aspired, for sure. Ryan B. and Cassie showed up to see 50 First Dates... highlight of the night... As I was cleaning up the theater, I was listening to 311's new song, appropriately entitled "Love Song".. and I didn't know what to think of it at first. I was digging it, of course. There isn't a whole lot that 311 does that I dislike. But it was just a really deeply emotional song. I'd have to listen to it a couple more times, but I think it might be the deepest song that they've done.
A less than eventful Valentines Day, but that's been the ongoing theme for the past 2 years... why should next year be different? :-\ ... Been a long day, so I'm just going to go to bed.
311,
work,
valentine's
