So, I guess the next jam session for our little group won't be until after Christmas. S'ok I guess... After all, the pops concert isn't until March. I dunno, I have this feeling like we're either not going to be ready for the concert or we're just going to lose all resolve to do it...
Had to work the matinee today.. and I have to again tomorrow... I had the option to not work them.. but I need the cash for Christmas gifts... man, this time of year gives me such a headache... What to buy people, What other people are buying for those people, Discount aisle, Sold out, Can't find it at this location let's drive 20 more miles just to find one thing, batteries not included, Bunch of insane idiots doing there last minute shopping, Craptacular christmas music over the intercom, No parking spaces.... Is this what Christmas is really about now? Getting your's before the slower guy gets his? What's become of this holiday? I mean, it's lost its true meaning a long time ago.. and it just keeps getting worse and worse every year... soon, Christmas will be replaced with Gift Day or something cliche like that. Maybe even you who is reading this has forgotten the meaning of this holiday. Well, if we're dealing with specifics, it's the Catholic/Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus the messiah.. but if that's too significant or you're not Catholic or Christian, then really... Christmas is about peace on earth, goodwill toward man, sharing your love with others, showing how much you care, getting together to celebrate with one another...
Anyway... went to the basketball game last night. Saw Harrison there... haven't seen him since the play. We had a good long discussion about g00d music. It was so great.. I haven't had that in-depth of a conversation about music since Tim C. went into the Air Force. Maybe there is hope for the youth of the northern US. We talked about the political influence on Rage Against the Machine, the awesomeness of the White Stripes, Dave Grohl's uber-ness as a musician, and other random musical tidbits. Good times..
