The Boston Massacre 64.

On my List of 100 Things to Die Before I Die, #96 claimed to "Obtain a score of 100-0 in a Yankees/Red Sox matchup on All Star Baseball 2000."

I can now scratch that one off the list. Behold.

Tino Martinez was the human onslaught machine, going 18 for 18 with 11 homers and 21 runs batted in. Jeter was also a machine going 17 for 18 with 5 homers, 19 runs batted in, 16 runs, 9 triples, and 2 stolen bases. As a team, 52 homeruns were hit including a span of 7 in a row. The fifth inning was the most destructive seeing 33 runs put up on the board. Bret Saberhagen took the brunt of the attack, giving up 47 runs in 2.2 innings. The only Red Sox pitcher to end the game with an ERA under 100 was Jim Corsi who merely allowed 10 runs on 12 hits in an inning and a third. Roger Clemens pitched 8 with 0 runs, 4 hits, and 19 strikeouts.

This almost makes up for the fact that they're getting pounded by the Devil Rays right now.
