Take your Escort to California. It's not a Corolla, but I bet it'll get you there and back.
Anyhow, interesting. From reading your post I think your friend Chrisanne lives in the building my sister started out in during her first year at Emerson.
Also, the Commons rocks, but it has nothing on Central Park. Additionally, Boston is a great place to live. Personally I never could, I hate how people drive in Boston and all cities for that matter (mostly because 90% of the time I'm not aggressive enough when driving). But apart from that, I love the city.
Also, Taxachusetts is a misnomer. Sales tax is 5%. State tax is hardly anything, takes like :10bux: out of my $230 paycheck. I'm not sure about property tax, though. Alls I know is that at least here you don't have to pay for like every piece of paper your kid uses in school.
You'll only get attacked while wearing Yankees paraphernalia in Boston right after a game. When everyone's still drunk.
Also a little added point to Boston, just stop and think how many great bands and performances stop in that city as opposed to where you were and are now. It's not such a bad thing. It also triples the chances of us eventually hanging out, since I visit Boston from time to time.
Sorry to hear about you friend going, but I'm sure you'll see her soon enough.
