Brawler of the Week
Welcome to Brawler of the Week. Today we're talking about Riku.
- Riku would have been the Keyblade Master if he hadn't fallen to the dark.
- Riku isn't afraid of the darkness he wields anymore.
- He is afraid of doing everything over again.
- On that note, he would probably do it if he absolutely had to. And if Sora could come with this time.
- Riku still has nightmares about Ansem coming back sometimes, despite being aware that it's all but impossible.
- He also has nightmares about becoming Ansem, which are almost worse.
- Riku likes the smell of the sea.
- Despite everything he might claim, he did actually want the darkness Ansem offered him at the time. It wasn't until Ansem tried to kill his friends that he realized his mistake.
- He does actually have an interest in Sora. He just isn't sure how to bring the topic up.
- Riku sleeps better if someone's with him then he does alone.
- One of the reasons he stopped wearing yellow so much is the color tends to remind him of Ansem.
- Riku would have been perfectly happy to stay in the in-between world until DiZ spoke to him and brought him to Castle Oblivion.
- Riku mostly tolerates Axel for Sora's sake, although he can understand why Axel did what he did.
- Soul Eater was created for him by Maleficent at his request for a weapon. It was made from the darkness in his heart.
- Riku still has problems believing that Sora and Kairi accepted him back so readily after all he'd done.
- Riku is surprisingly good at imitating voices.
- Riku can cook moderately well, provided it isn't something too tricky.
- Riku has more than a few memories that Ansem left behind; these range from useful to outright disturbing.
- Despite it being something of a staple on the islands, he's never really liked fish.
- Riku more-or-less tolerates his Replica, but would like it a lot better if it didn't have a habit of picking fights with him.
- When he can't sleep, he goes out to the beach and listens to the waves crash against the shore.
- Despite hanging out with DiZ, can't bring himself to hate all of the Nobodies.
- Riku has been working on figuring out what he can still do with his darkness. It's been a slow process.
- Sometimes the only thing keeping him from leaving the islands to go wandering is the fact that he promised not to.
- Riku has stumbled across fan theories that he's somehow related to Xehanort. He is still not quite sure what to make of them and whether or not to believe them.
- Despite the fact that it's all but impossible, sometimes he still worries that Ansem's still alive.
- Riku doesn't actually tend to see himself as pretty or good-looking. Consequently, it always comes as something of a surprise to him when someone says he is.
