Breaking Point: General Discussion

Oct 22, 2009 09:33

I've been trying to give at least a week for each episode, which means that at this point, we're actually a week behind. No matter, though; this is still the UNLOCKED discussion post for this week's episode, "The Breaking Point".

Questions to get things started:

1. Dike is given the most unsympathetic portrayal of anyone in the series. Is it bad enough to make us feel sorry for him in hindsight, or not?

2. In contrast, Speirs is practically an action hero in this episode. Is it an effort to show his actions accurately, or are the creators of the show trying to say something about the way we tell stories of the war?

3. What is it that stops Winters from rushing out and taking over? Is his motivation the same as that described by IRL Winters, or does the narrative on the screen require something else?
