'Kay, right. I've got to admit, Day of Days is not one of my favourite episodes. It's not that it's bad, as such - I think it's just that it's so relentless and chaotic there's not much time for the little character moments that really stick with me, apart from a few great moments at the end. Not to mention that if Currahee was confusing the first time round, this one's even worse for everyone turning into one big smeary khaki blur.

But enough bitching, because it does have its awesome moments. I like the entire opening sequence in the planes, before they jump. It looks incredible, and I'm amazed at what they did with the CGI available to them back then. Though one thing I noticed was that the equipment check sound-off started at '10 okay!', and surely there's more guys on the plane than that.

I think this is possibly the most brutal and violent of the episodes, in some ways. It has to be, of course, necessitated by the subject. Even so, here we've literally got blood running in the streets, corpses littering the fields, a barricade of dead horses. The first firefight we see in the entire series isn't actually a battle so much as a massacre - though kudos for the producers for making us sympathise with Easy despite that, seeing as we know why Bill's being so aggressive.

The final couple of scenes are great. I haven't noticed much new watching this episode, but I did finally see that after Dick goes off his food, Nix just throws the can away.

*waves* Hi! I'm delurking (I have a real comment to put up later, I promise!) to note the '10 okay' thing. There would definitely be more than ten guys on the plane--I counted fourteen in the first set of shots, although I don't know if I spotted everyone. Maybe they just thought that all that counting would bore people?
