- And that was the Germans. The Poles still had horse cavalry in 1939. To tragic effect against the panzers. Of course, by late 1944 Germany's lost access to the all-important oil fields in Russia. The Ardennes offensive was definitely a high-risk throw of the dice for Hitler, and it's commonly asserted he exhausted his tanks and fuel and men in this attack when he could have perhaps held the Siegfried Line longer.
- Cutting out Skip is BLASPHEMY. How about cutting out the second of Lip's extraneous Foy position notes?
- That was Dike POV? oh!
- Malarkey getting the gun was always actually a bit cheerful for me until I read Easy Company Soldier. Now his wild eyes at the end of that scene have a whole different tenor.
- Spitballing here: Foy was not a big town, just a village in fact. A two-pronged attack involving I and E should have been enough to take it without committing the rest of either 2d or 3d Battalions. The scope of the scene seems to emphasize the losses, but the only real problem was a failure of leadership. I don't think it's considered wise to commit another rifle company at that point. Maybe ten seconds later, if Speirs hadn't wandered by and caught Winters' eye.
- Abusing POWs? Probably Liebgott. Not always, but it's a safe assumption. Boy had issues.
TLP:
- I think "Shut up, Webster!" is the official motto of this community.
- Andrew Lee Potts is too cute for words. Only reason I watched two episodes of "Primeval".
- It seems we can't watch this episode without our thoughts devolving into crack and slash. Probably because it seems to be written that way. After all, what came out on the screen is not what it was supposed to be until relatively late in the process. I think Tony To and Erik Bork have slashy tendencies.
Maybe there's a shot of a second or two after this when he's closed his eyes? Or does he close his mouth? Maybe I can cap something off my ripped iPhone versions ...

I never thought about that before.

Can we put that in the community info?
I think Tony To and Erik Bork have slashy tendencies.
Maybe they're fanboys in denial?
