Here's the prompt illustration I submitted for Reverse Bang way back in autumn. The image was inspired by Hua Shan/Mount Hua in north-west China. I do and I don't want to hike this glorious and terrifying trail someday.
I totally lucked out: I got THREE awesome authors who all wrote me plotty, post-manga Roy/Ed fics full of adventure, alchemy and intrigue. *loves on authors* They are all slight ending AUs too, for pairing and for Ed with alchemy. I feel so spoiled.
All my authors were super-great about sending me drafts, so I got to read these early on and heartily recommend them all! The drafts inspired me to some extra illos, one per story.
Al and Ed are draped over each other on the sofa in the way only reunited Elric brothers can be, giggling helplessly at nothing.
Illustration for a_big_apple's Darker Grows the Valley (Roy/Ed, Winry, Paninya, Al, R-ish): Roy and Ed are finally going to take a vacation--without Roy's job coming along too--so they're spending a week in Rush Valley to celebrate the opening of Winry's new automail shop. This has nothing whatsoever to reports of dangerous rogue alchemy going on in the area--nope, nothing to do with that at all.
He comes up gasping and barely remembers, through the fritzing bewilderment in his brain at just how cold it is possible to be, to toss his head back and hurl shining droplets from his hair. He angles his chest just a little towards the spectator; runs a hand down his face; arches his spine; flicks his head again so that his sopping bangs draggle into his eyes. The effect must be phenomenal even though he’s shivering.
Illustration for tierfal's Diplomatic Excursions and Other Ways to Die (Roy/Ed, featuring Al/cats and Hawkeye/BAMFery, hard R): Conceptually, attending Emperor Ling's coronation celebration is simple enough. In practice, it involves far too much trekking, yearning, bleeding, burning, hoping, running, and dodging of diplomatic catastrophes for Roy's tastes.
They exchange looks before they step forward. The open path before them takes them toward the stream then alongside it to where it disappears into the rock face as far as Roy remembers. They see little else beyond what the mist reveals, barely a foot to each side.
Illustration for zippitgood's The City Over the Mountain (Roy/Ed, OCs, PG-13): When a clandestine mission to Aerugo doesn't go as planned, Roy and Ed stumble upon an unknown civilization with unexpected ties to their past and designs on their future that may not allow them to return to Amestris.
