So, I broke up poor Ed and Winry in my big plotty post-manga mystery fic, No Small Injury. Poor guys - but at least they got a good few months of apple pie first. Anyhoo, by way of apology to them and to readers who, like me, find the alchemy dork and his brilliant mechanic the most adorable of FMA pairings, I wrote some Ed/Win fluff, a snapshot

Seriously, I love these guys together. That periodic table scene is one of the funniest ever scenes in the manga. And him talking to her about her hands, and Win staring at his back from her train, and that scene where they confront each other and you see Ed's finally gotten taller than her ... *wibbles*

I'M SO SORRY FOR BREAKING THEIR LITTLE HEARTS IN NO SMALL INJURY. There's no way Arakawa will ever do that, though, they will be all over each other like a rash by the final chapter. *awws at them*

Sadly, that one pretty much is the end of my Winry icon stash :/ though I really like Ed/Win they're not my OTP, which is what I devoted a larger percentage of my icons to.

But yeah, there are some nice ones :)

Oh how I loved this! Crack-jumpers (we have these awful cricket things here that we lovingly call "screamers" because they leapt at your face in the dark), Winry developing air-conditioning in her head, sweet, summer skinny-dipping....LOVE!

My wife has family in Australia and the spider bit was inspired by her tales of the many terrifying spiders that live there, especially red-backs, which are famous for lurking in toilets and kill and eat lizards, I kid you not. Those cricket things sound scary. Over here, the biggest domestic terrors are rats and slugs, although in their own disgusting way these are pretty bad. I once had a slug-infested bedroom at a time when I slept on a futon right on the floor, *shudders*. Thinking about it, I think screamers still win the scary.

I admit, I am a huge arachaphobe. They scare the bejeesus out of me, and I'm talking the little guys so small you can't even see their eyes. Fuck spiders eating LIZARDS! It's official, I can never visit Australia.

The screamers are devious little bastards. They lie in wait on trees (or in some basements...thankfully not mine!) and as soon as you walk by they spring out at you. My friends basement/yard is ripe with them. Needless to say, I don;t go in her basement unless necessary. XD I am such a big sissy!

Screamers still sound totally horrible. I actually don't mind spiders - although I'd make an exception for giant fucking spiders that bite your bottom on the loo and EAT LIZARDS. But I have a real thing about slugs. They creep me the hell out for some reason. *shudders* Oddly, I don't mind snails.
