I talked to Nick yesterday. He yelled at me for going to lame college. Then I yelled at him for going to lame army only so he can go to lame college afterwards. Then he yelled at me for apple pie. I was told that vegans can't be trusted, especially with pie. I have two weeks to build a flux capacitor so we can go back in time to when a horse could ( Read more... )

Congrats, what was it on? I have my first tomorrow, over the different kinds of arguments. Disjunction Syllogism, Denying the Antecedent, the like. How do you feel about killing orphans? I can't explain yet in case it biases your response.

It was on the first book we read (which was about personal identity).

How do I feel about killing orphans? Well, I guess it would, in some ways, be similar to abortion. It would be getting rid of a child that doesn't seem to be wanted. I only think abortion is "right" in the most extreme cases, and I suppose I would feel the same about killing orphans :-p

Hrm...Nick compared trusting you with pie to trusting you with murdering orphans. I'm not sure what he'll say on this. Well, yes I am. Killing orphans is ok. But I won't start until he says go.

Aaah, I see. Well, I personally could never be trusted with killing orphans, so perhaps Nick is right. I thought you were just talking about orphan killing in general.
