hip hip horrah! fall quarter is over, the last two weeks or so took forever but it had its highlights. im really nervous to get my biochem grades back as i might need to retake it spring quarter which would make me tres sad, although my forenchem partner in crime, chris, might be in the same boat with me. i know that it is cruel to wish, but if i have to retake i hope we will be able to commiserate together or rejoice for passing together. other than that my classes have gone fairly well this quarter which hasnt happened since freshman year, speaking of which i cant believe that im a junior this year, crazy. time sure flies, for more than just school.
so anyway i drove home tuesday and scared the living crap out of my mom. i got home earlier than i lead her to believe, unpacked my car, and then hid it up the street. she came home and opened the door partially before i yelled "SURPRISE! I'M HOME!" it was really funny how she screamed and threw the mail at me. after she finally caught her breath we packed up and went to bed early so we could catch our plane out to philly wednesday morning. philly was good. its fun to chill with my family, although i think that my mom is jealous that i get along better with her cousins than she does. oh well, what can you do. we down to china town (yeah year of the ox stuff) and then to
teavana which was lots of fun. however, i spent too much money. someday i will save up to buy this cast iron teapot to which i already bought the cup and saucer. my mom and i also bought some teas to split. the mixed teas we got were caribbean breeze/rooibos key lime, rooibos sweet amore/snow geisha, strawberry slender pu-erh/tung ting jade oolong, and raspberry sangria/rooibos lemon twist in addition to cinnamon, "night, night", and my fave, japanese wild cherry.
unfortunately its $170.
after getting home the ha's picked us up at the airport. they have gps in their car and as we took the ferry across the river it got confused, when we finally reached the other side it decided that we were driving in the middle of the river. it would have been really amusing if you were there, i swear. but when we got home we had a message on our answering machine that alissa is back in children's hospital and after visiting her on sunday, that they have to move the entire family up from florida. that makes jen, peter, and all six kids trying to move into a house by christmas....right. but anyway, mom went back to work yesterday and then to the doctors where she got medicine for bronchitis.
on another note im going to make an asian meal sometime over break, im uber excited. here's the menu...green tea, veggi sushi, chicken and mushroom stir-fry, and green tea cakes. i decided that im going to do some sketches of japanese flowers, cherry blossoms in particular but i dont know why i have such an odd love for them, and fire birds...crazy lisa
