Pure Moment Of Frustration

Mar 04, 2011 21:34

Beware of a mad-woman-who-is-most-likely-PMSing content. I’ve given warning, you’ve been warned, let’s get the show started.

Look, back in the stone ages when roads were just being made and bicycle were all the rage, it was OK for bicycles to cycle on the road. Cars are thinking of you. But now, it’s 2011. Not only are cars using the road now at speeds way too fast for bicycles, we also have heavy vehicles like trucks, lorries, and lost-distance cargo trucks. It’s not safe. No matter how many times you post your opinions that we should watch out for you, I repeat. IT’S NOT FUCKING SAFE. GET OFF YOUR FUCKING BICYCLE AND EITHER USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR DRIVE A FUCKING CAR.

“Yeah, but I bought the bicycle to USE it, you dumb fuck, so what the fuck are you on about?” Yeah well, the government have spent a few million dollars for bicycle trails. Go ride your bicycles there. Roads that do not have a designated bicycle lane, you complain to papers that cars don’t watch out for you. Roads that DO have designated bicycle lanes for you, YOU STILL COMPLAIN. So just stop biking to wherever because you’re a “greenie”. You’re creating a hazard on the road. You ARE the hazard.

Secondly. America has the American Indians. Australia have the Aboriginal People. South-East Asia have the Orang Asli. New Zealand? Well, we have the Maoris. (Moriori are a debate for another day). We all know that we have to “take care” of the…”original” people on the land. Yup…

Up until a certain point.

I typed up a whole paragraph worth of my rantings about Maoris but you just have to read three pages of comments on this article to get an inkling of what I’m trying to say. They take and take, but never give. They constantly whinge and whine about supposed “unfairness” but…look at other countries. They are working together to solve this problem. And here we are at the bottom of the world, accusing and blaming the English for HELPING you develop YOUR land, making YOUR economy grow, making New Zealand what it is today.

Not to mention, I’m a part-time worker, part-time student, with a HUGE student loan and yet, I still get taxed quite a significant amount. And it’s not hidden fact that most of that money will go to your people on the government benefit. And it’s also no hidden fact that they are most probably the people who are just too lazy to find work. Every time you even get a waft of maybe cutting some benefits, “OMG! Oh noez! OMG! Oh noez! This is unfair treatment! You’re just targeting us! Unfair!” Just put a cork in it, and maybe go out and find a job. Donna maree’s comment on this page pretty much sums up why I’m extremely frustrated.
