[Her first reaction is horror. Especially when the blood and dead cat come into the picture.]

[And then she just becomes ANGRY, so we'll just be calling you back now.]

What the bloody hell was that little display supposed to be?!

[Oh, an angry young woman? How pleasant. He smiles. His tone could put a mockingbird's to shame.]

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well, young Miss.

I take it that the little 'display' was not to your pleasure? My deepest apologizes.

[Yeah, no... we're not pleased. In fact, we're of the opinion that this guy has some serious problems. Reminds us of a certain witch with a penchant for torture.]

No, it most definitely was not. What even possessed you to do such a thing in the first place?

[Have a very pleasant chuckle.]

Possessed? My apologizes, young Miss, but you must be mistaken. I am quite rational in my delivery.

And just what, pray tell, is rational about maiming a cat in such a way for everyone her to see?!

I suppose keeping the lovely residents of this strange land in the know is something that is quite rational. Though perhaps if any of the residents have any of the affinity for cats -- perhaps they may offer a funeral for this one?

It would be a shame if she were to continue bleeding all over this person's doorstep. I am certain he will not be pleased in the least.

Keeping the residents "in the know" how exactly? By informing them that you are capable of killing cats and ruining books?!

Is this kind of behavior normal for you?

I do believe most people are capable of killing cats and ruining books, Miss.

Though the young Miss seems rather displeased by my actions, it seems. I certainly did not intend for her to be upset so.

Allow me to extend my most sincere apologies.

Yes, but few people actually go around doing such a thing and in front of an audience. You seem rather nonchalant about it, though, so perhaps it is a typical occurrence in your world?

[sighs] Putting aside the fact I don't believe you to be quite that sincere, you can consider your apology accepted.

Perhaps it is. I suppose something like this would depend on one's perspective, wouldn't the young Miss agree?

Nonetheless, I am most grateful for her understanding.

[Understanding?! When did we give you our understanding?! That does it; you're crazy. This conversation is over.]

Right. Then if you understand, don't do it again.

If the young miss insists, I would be more than happy to oblige.

[=/ It's hard for us to know if he's being serious. We don't like that smile on his face.]

Perfect. Then we understand each other.

[have a curt nod]

Have a good day then.
