Upper Desai
if you would like to submit location recommendations, write up a name and description of the place, and e-mail it to duadministration@gmail.com for consideration!
Center-City: Center-City is the "it" when it comes to entertainment and excitement. Open 24/7/365, there is always something to do in this part of town. From its sparkling casinos, to the vibrant theatrical entertainment... well, think of it as a much larger Las Vegas, really. Center-City sits on the Eastern shore of Desai, and neighbors Cordova and Tayon. The appearance of Center-City blends in these areas to lead in to either the expensive Cordova, or the run-down, dangerous Tayon.
   »   MDEA Travel Agency

In Center-City, the massive MDEA Travel Agency sits on the far shore, taking up most of the coast backing Center-City. It resembles that of a very large train station or airport, with many multi-world influences in both its design and the shops/cafes/people within. To enter or exit Desai to other worlds, you must go through the Travel Agency. Every world that the Travel Agency connects to has a smaller version of the Travel Agency, so that immigrants and emigrants, obviously, have someplace to arrive/leave from.

The way that the portal system works is simple: You buy a ticket for a hi-tech monorail (there are many designated around in appropriate numbers to each world, like a series of trains) that is designed to shoot through the portal systems to get to your location of choice.

The Travel Agency has a habit of having explosions/attacks/etc that occur for various reasons and various sources, that often cause it to have to shut down its normal 24/7 business hours.

¤ When arriving at Desai, it's important to remember that, yes, while weapons are allowed in many forms, MDEA [Multi-Dimensional Exploration Agency] laws dictate that these weapons must be registered in MDEA databases while going through Customs. Likewise, if someone is a magic user, they are classified as a living weapon, and must register as such.

¤ Likewise, all individuals entering Desai are issued ID cards that state that they are not native to Desai. These must be carried on you at all times, provided a member of law enforcement requests it of you. Not being in possession of this card can either lead to heavy fines or arrest.
»   The Starscape Casino & Hotel Resort (aka The Starscape) [ link]

The largest, most prominent building/series of buildings in Center-City, it has a long history in Desai, pre-dating the opening of the portal network. It has withstood the prior war of thirty years ago, even when it was at its lowest point, until an unnamed individual took position as Head Director of Operations, and restored the Starscape to its former glory, only to in turn set the entire facility on fire. There wre no reported casualities. However, after that and the war, when the Starscape was purchased by an off-world family with the surname DeClercq, it was launched into a mega-resort, and is amidst the major players in Desai in regards to economy.

There are reports that the hotel resort is haunted, but the owners refuse to allow investigations in this manner. They are also said to have ties to the cult known as Scala Caeli, a powerful group with monetary influence over MDEA.
   »   North Aukrai Hotel

A small hotel of about thirty rooms. It's rundown, but maintained to the best of the abilities of the elderly couple that owns it. They're a kind couple that seem to keep the two-star place at least crime-free. If someone's willing to lend a hand in the upkeep of the place, they tend to give discounts as well. It is towards the Center-City-to-Tayon end of town.
   »   The Tradehouse

A large former warehouse that still is mostly a warehouse, it sits in a trendy area of Center-City across from a bookstore and coffee shop and rubs elbows with a chic Turkish restaurant. The Tradehouse deals with specialty gifts gleamed from all over the multi-verse - from exotic feather masks from darkest Africa to rare perfumes from Galactic Six, they deal in it all. They feature a wide selection of goods for all tastes and lifestyles from furniture’s to clothing to perfumes and decorative items, they have it all. They also deliver anywhere within Desai without charge packages weighing up to a hundred pounds. After a hundred they will charge shipping and handling charges. It’s owned by Matt Burbank, an average kind of guy with an average kind of face and build, but has a very fanatical love for his four kids and has this need to share his joy for his kids with everyone. He is a nice guy but he tends to show off his kids’ pictures to anyone that shows an interest in them.
Cordova [District]: Called the Beverly Hills of Desai, Cordova is where someone goes to spend $500 on sunglasses. It is home to politicians, major corporations, and the wealthiest of Desai citizens. Large galas are held here often, for verious reasons (and are crashed much of the time).
   »   The Mayor's House

A massive, gothic mansion that has seen many expansions since it was first built over a hundred years ago. The mayor does reside here, though it's said that he is on his deathbed. There are rumors and conspiracies in regards to this, as the mayor is only in his mid-forties, and has been an avid opponent to the ways of MDEA since he was first elected into office.
