So Monday I'm at the gym watching VH1 and they play this girl's really good music. So I go online later and find her and preview her under their "you oughtta know" section of upcoming artists and go out and buy the CD. So awesome. Her name is KT Tunstall and I know it's evil but I hope she doesn't get popular so I'm not just another joker with her CD. I want to be the girl who has the great unknown music. But go out and buy her CD anyway because the girl deserves to be successful, she'll make more CDs that way, I guess. I also got a CD by Lizz Wright which is really great too, more of a chillout CD. I previewed but didn't buy the Aqualung CD and that is some serious love makin' music, right there.
On Friday Deanna and I went to the drag show which was their 11th anniversary and they had these fantastic girls from Seattle, one who actually sings. Claudia looked fuckin' fierce and all the girls (and guy) did an especially good job, I had a really good time even though they played nothing but 80s dance remixes. I'll have pictures up eventually so check the photos link.
So D, Jill, Julia, and I went to go see the gay cowboys. I thought it was really really good, few movies make me misty but that one did it. I haven't seen very many of the oscar nominated movies but that one deserves it and if it wins it should be because it's a great movie, not because it makes a statement. But Heath Ledger should SO win, he was amazing. Wow, I just looked at the Best Film nominations and there isn't a single high budget epic in the whole bunch. They're all like small time character dramas, that's awesome.
Well, I'm kind of running out of steam but I think that's enough. I'd say I had a good week. :D
