Hey...anyone who reads this... lets keep the posts work safe, or if not work safe, cut them please. Just out of respect for those who are able to log on at work. k? Thanks
I understand that it was probably not wise to post a giant picture of nakedness (and actually against the rules of LiveJournal). But my main problem is in your request. Who's to decide what is work-safe and what isn't? For instance, if I write a post that is rife with foul language, every other word the f-word, is that what you don't want people to post? Because that has nothing to do with respecting other people. It has to do with expressing feelings. I don't think I've ever posted anything work-unfriendly, so this isn't to defend myself. But do you understand how your request is a little unreasonable?
The fact is that if you have friends who frequently post work-unfriendly posts, enough that you have to write a message to everyone not to do this, then you probably SHOULD take them off your friend's list. If you insist on opening LiveJournal at work, then it is your responsibility, not ours, to make sure that nothing inappropriate pops up. You need to respect that people want to express themselves, and you need to respect the ways in which they do it. You don't have to agree with it, and you certainly don't have to look at it if you don't want to, but it isn't our responsibility to make sure that you don't get in trouble at work. It's yours. If that means that you either have to stop opening LiveJournal at work or delete people from your friends list, then that's your decision to make.
i dont mean posts with swearing and stuff like that, i meant full on naked pictures of guys. it really is not necessary. I dont care about expressing yourself in words and pictures just dont make them pornographic.
I agree with you for the most part. My friends have enough respect for me not to post any over the top pictures unless it's behind a cut (and the cut is usually listed as 'nws'. Occasionally there is a slip up, just as much as going to a website might pop up some porn advertisements.
If you want to continue to read someones journal occasionally but it tends to be a bit on the iffy side for work safe, you can always create a group called 'read' and only look at your friends that are in the group while at work. I do it all the time because I'm part of questionable communities and such.
