I'm bored I'm bored I'm bored....oh god, I'm bored.
I heard someone say once that only boring people let themselves get bored. Now I'm sure that was pure verbal regurgitation on his part, because he's not quite smart enough to have thought that up himself...I think the point I was trying to make is gone now. Oh well.
Now that my point is gone you'll have to bear with me, because I've nothing much to say today.
I finished the dark tower series (after slight deliberation), and now I'm reading a book of short stories that Lessye gave me. It doesn't compare. They're just too....well....short. Don't get me wrong, I lovelovelove short stories. In fact, they've been my favorite genre to read for years, but the book she gave me is nothing like the short stories Dahl (who is my favorite short story author by the way) wrote. I mean his were actual stories. The ones I'm reading now are 3-4 pages long at best, and have no real conclusion. They don't develop into much, you know? I don't know, perhaps I'm just having a hard time letting go of Roland....
...well, I am, but I'm not. I'm going to finish the stories though. I won't go buy anything else anyway. And I definitely won't go buy another Stephen King book, considering the fact that I don't appreciate his style. However, the Dark Tower Series was the exception. Anyone read 'Salem's Lot? Any suggestions? The Stand maybe? I don't want to get in a rut by reading just one author. Particularly King.
Otherwise, I'm just bored. I could cure it with the short stories if they weren't so damn short, but I digress.
