finally something to update about...
weekend craziness. holy carp. i actually did something every day this weekend.
i'm proud..
we will start with....
Thursday
so thursday, i was sitting at school between classes. reading myspace stuff. went to my friend Aubrey's profile for the hell of it and saw that Ryan(bwt) posted a comment on her page. so i called her...
asked her how everything was, etc. talked to her for a while, and she asked if i wanted to come to winona to hang out with her and Cody for the night. i said yeah, of course. and thus, the madness started.
so we hung out, had dinner, went to dairy queen. i think we freaked Cody out a little bit. but it's all good. hee
that was about it for thursday...
Friday
before i went to bed on thursday, i remembered i had an eye appointment friday morning. that sucked. so i drove us back to chatfield, then i drove to kasson for that. then went home for a bit. then went to work. that sucked.
after work...went back to chatfield. went to Andy's house (who i've never met before) and hung out there for a good couple hours. had some tequila. yummy tequila, not Jose. no limes though, that was the only downside...
then some friends of Aubrey/Andy came over too. they were at a party and one of them stole this girl's framed senior picture off of the wall. it was sooooo great. she had this whole prissy cowgirl thing going on. so me, being the carrier of many sharpies, decided we should draw on it. or write something. after a while we decided to write "yippie kay-yay muthafucka" on it. so we did. i doubt that girl will ever get that back. ha!
so after they went back to the party (without the picture), we decided to crash upstairs in the living room. and when we couldn't sleep, we had more tequila and blow-pops. that brought my tequila shot counter to 7 for the night.
then i kinda fell asleep, then woke up.
Saturday
saturday was good. in the morning we left Andy's and went to Aubrey's in-laws house a couple blocks down...
we had breakfast, yummers. then watched tv for a while before we decided we needed to get ready to go to the cities. yeah that's right. i was supposed to work that day. i called in. said i was in the cities, coming home for my shift and my car broke down. and you know what. best decision i have made this year. besides the initial agreement to go with Amanda and John to that show at Star Central in early March...
anywho....so we got ready to go see Bloodwilltell at Station 4. good times were had by all. we got there at about 230. doors were at 3, so it was locked. so we walked around for a bit looking for a bathroom. yeah. that doesn't go so well on a saturday afternoon in downtown st paul. but we got back to the venue...doors opened. and we went to the bathroom....they were cleaning it. so more sitting after that attempt. saw the bands start to pile in and stick their stuff on the stage. another attempt at bathroom and all was well. 'heys' and 'good to see ya's to Aaron and Nick were exchanged as they passed and went back to Aubrey. i sat on my stool, and all of the sudden, i felt something hit my head. i looked up and i saw Ryan wave. he poked me in the head. i called him crafty for sneaking up on me like that. crazies. back story on this: the bar is split in half. venue part, bar part. we were in the venue part, which is lower on the ground than the bar. and there were 'windows' up above so people in the bar could see the stage, etc.
so anywho. after i grabbed some food and drinks from the bitchy lady at the bar, went back to sit down. Kevin came in with his gf, said a quick 'hey how's it goin' and left. after Aaron finished his first beer, he came down and talked to us (only i could go up to the bar because Aubrey's not 21). asked if i heard the news (Nick leaving). of course i said yes. and asked him how they were doing with it all. they wrote 3 new songs in 5 days...so he apologized in advance if they weren't spot on that day. i told him all would be good, different, but good. and that i was really excited to hear the new stuff.
of he went and boredom came back to us once again...at this point, we went to the bathroom and bought condoms out of the machine on the wall. funny things. we got like...4 or something.
then music started...
first band was...Alethia
they were really good. another good MN band.
after them, another break. Aaron came and talked to us again. we talked about having to break into our own houses and the like. crazy conversations. then we started to play hangman because we were so bored. we went thru a bunch of words...no one lost. then i couldn't think of a word. so i jumped up on my stool, and asked Ryan for a word. he tried to whisper it over the edge, but i told him i'd come up. so i did, and he still whispered it in my ear. weirdo.
the word you ask? was.............buttpirate.
and the great thing is...it worked. she couldn't get it. i had won.
so i jumped up on my stool again and told Ryan that we won. we tried to do a high-5....yeah, we both missed. laughing ensued and we tried again. this time. contact was made :P
then it was time for music again...
DC Fallout was next. they were pretty good. harder than all the others playing, but they were good.
Bloodwilltell. what can i say? they were fantastic. a little shaky yes, but that's to be expected because it was their first show playing 2 old songs they've never played live without Nick.
they all pulled em off really well. Nick didn't look so happy with himself when he messed up a little on When The Time Comes, but he did great. so did all the other guys. the 3 new songs were absolutely fantastic. i can't wait for more. i especially liked the 3rd song they played, i dunno what it was called. but it was insanely good. and Ryan broke a string on that one too. just shows you how much ass he was kicking. i liked Ryan and Kevin on backing vocals too. they all just pulled together so well. i have so much faith in them that it's almost rediculous. i love these guys and they need to get what they deserve, what they've worked so hard for. i know they can go far. i'm gonna go into withdrawl because i can't see them again until the 20th. i know that's not that long. but when you see em once a week it gets to be that way.
but after them we decided to head out because we were gonna meet Amanda at Applebee's in Minneapolis. so we said some quick goodbyes. got a big sweaty hug from Aaron. got some high-5s from Nick and Ryan, and another hug from Kevin who came down so Aubrey could meet him, told him i gave Ryan a list of venues in Rochester, and he said he knew some people down here, so i've got another one of em working on getting down here...yay! told all of them how good they were dispite what they believed, and that i loved the new songs, which meant a lot to them. tried to convince Ryan that breaking strings is good, and that he needs to bring extra strings with him to shows...
then we left and went to Applebee's with Amanda for like, an hour or so, had some yummy food and left. she went back to her dorm, and we went back to my house. we prettied up and headed for Rochester. we went to Applebees again where Aubrey bought me alcohol. it was yummy. we sat for a couple hours before they closed up. then i let her drive my car and tried to guide her through it. she had never driven before. but this was ok because it was about 2am and the streets were empty pretty much. then we called it a night.
went back to her house in the morning...didn't get much sleep that night. we watched Madagascar and i fell asleep as the credits started rolling. we slept for 2 hours until her in-laws got home. then we moped about for a couple more hours until she headed back to Winona. then i went over to Erica's for Soprano night. ate some jello. had some coffee. before the sopranos we went to give Julie's cat his shot, and then to get coffee. then we went to the RCTC parking lot, so i could try and drive her car. it went pretty well. it's a 5-speed. she said i did pretty well. mainly because i wasn't getting frustrated. i was laughing at myself. i didn't kill it too many times. but when i did, i laughed. so that was the first endeavor on that front. we'll try it again...i just need more experience with the shifting and all. i've been watching her drive for 2 years, and i shift for her every so often when we're just driving around. so it's all good.
went back to her house. watched sopranos. ate jello. etc. then i went home and slept. went to go to class this morning, got there...and the door said it was cancelled. i drove for an hour for nothing. what a waste of gas, especially at $2.59/gallon. suck. oh well i guess.
so good times were had. crazy times were had. and saw old friends and new friends.
can never go wrong with that. and it rained this weekend. but not on saturday. so that was perfecto.
