What a good day today was.
I had a small show tonight, but it was by far the most contact I've yet had with any of the performers we've had this year. And the Chapter 6 guys couldn't have been sweeter. And they were cute, too.
Dinner was really fun. We talked a lot about the new hockey rules, ethnic heritages, Barenaked Ladies, and food. It was good. And they were even quite flattering. One asked me, "Do you sing?" and I said "Nope." To which he replied, "Oh, well you have a very beautiful low voice. You would make an amazing alto."
*giggle*
There weren't too many people at the show, but those that were there seemed to REALLY enjoy it. And that's all I can ask for. I also had more committee volunteers there than we usually have, which was good.
But my favorite part was after I got the guys all set to go. I was driving behind them and realized that they were in the left turn lane. (They needed to go straight to get back to the hotel). So I hopped over a lane and got in front of them, thus leading them back to the hotel.
Once I saw them pull into the lot, my phone rang, and it was Drew. This was the conversation
Drew:"We were almost lost, but we made it home!"
Me: "Yeah, I noticed you seemed lost. Did you notice I jumped in front of you there?"
Drew: "Yes. We weren't sure if you were leading us, or just on your way home."
Me: "No, I was leading you right there."
Drew: "Man, you've really thought of everything!!"
Me: "That's my job."
Drew: "Well thanks for being an amazing hostess."
And then I realized for the first time that I'm good at my job.
