My Year in Scrabble in review:
Win Ratio/Spread:
66-68-1, +593.
Rating in: 1817
Rating out: 1751
Rating Swing: Well... my first tournament brought me from 1817-1740, and I've been pretty much been durdling in the 1700's since...
Winnings this year: $130.
Highlights: Winning The Old Greenwich Early Bird (you know it's a sad year when...) Meeting tons of new people at nationals, as well as getting to see old friends I only get to see once a year. Albany 4th of July is always a blast, and Old Greenwich was an incredibly fun tournament as well. Practicing with Mack and watching him get insanely good. (Also, the tie game I had with him was probably the funnest game of scrabble I've ever played.)
Lowlights: Pretty much anything involving actual scrabble... But some of the truly special moments: All of Albany New Years, my 6-game losing streak at Hancock, my 4-game losing streak at Old-Greenwich to fall out of the money, My 1-6 start at Nationals. Almost dying of dehydration during Old-Greenwich (okay, that probably would have happened regardless...)
Next Year:
Yes: Albany, Rochester.
Hopefully: Norwalk (1/14), Utica (1/28) Saratoga, Norwalk (3/10... I think this is during spring break.) Tarrytown (5/25-5/28), Hancock, Albany 4th of July, Old Greenwich, Nationals, Lake George, Tarrytown (11/23-11/25). Some of these are much more likely than others, but I should be able to make all of them, Right? right...
Also... It seems like I can only have good tournaments on even numbered years (Seriously, look at my cross-tables page...) So maybe next year will be better scrabble wise? Pretty please?
