Nanowrimo report

I'm kind of awed at myself for reaching the 15,000 mark already. I've had a very mixed bag of days, so far. The first five days went extremely well, better than they ever have before. It felt as if I had the characters, the world, and the plot firmly in my grasp and the words just rolled out effortlessly, even after work.

However, no sooner had my writing buddy declared this my best book yet, and one she would buy in a heartbeat ( after reading only one chapter), my luck changed...

The next two days I had to drag each individual word by its scruff onto the page, and my productivity went way down. It may have to do with the transition into chapter 4; no longer setting up but starting the main plot, but it might also be my biorhythm. I just work better in the morning. If I start at ten, I generally have 2000 words written by twelve or one o' clock. On the bad days I'm at it for 16 hours sometimes, before I get my minimum amount of words. No fun.

Work intervened with that program. Family does, cooking does. Also, on days I'm interrupted often the flow works less well. The right brain needs quiet, time, and space to work well. For me, anyway.

So I'm now going to take a break, do some relaxing. Reading, knitting, sewing. And then spew out some more words. Starting on chapter 5 now. The plot is gathering  momentum....

Tell me, fellow wrimos, how is your work going?
