  • Bus to station, Train to New Street, Train to Piccadilly, Taxi to Hotel, avoid rain, have lunch
  • Walk to St-Peters-Square, Metro to Eccles and back to G-Mex
  • Metroshuttle 2 back to Hotel
• Monday
  
  • Walk to Victoria, Train to Blackpool North
  • Walk around, get hat bought so I stop fiddling with my hair in the wind, have lunch
  • Tram to Pleasure Beach (did not go in, too much of a rip off), Tram to Starr Gate, then Fleetwood
  • 14 bus back to town centre, 11 bus, got off at Rigby Road since it was obvious we wouldn't make the train we wanted
  • Look around Rigby Road tram depot, walk to Blackpool South
  • Train to Preston, Train to Manchester Piccadilly
  • Metroshuttle 1 back to Printworks,
• Tuesday
• Walk to Victoria, Train to Bradford
• Visit Bradford - National Media Museum, have lunch
• 571 bus to Halifax, Walk to Station in the pouring rain :(
• Train to Hebden Bridge (since Halifax Station is a building site)
• Train to Blackburn, then Langho, then back to Manchester Victoria, walk to Printworks
• Wednesday
• Metroshuttle 1 to Piccadilly
• Train to Windermere
• Local bus to Bowness, have lunch
• Boat to Ambleside, abandoned walking into town centre
• Open top bus to Windermere
• Just catch train to Manchester Piccadilly
• Metroshuttle 1 back to Hotel
• Thursday
• 98 bus to Bury
• East Lancs Railway to Rawtenstall and back to Bury (not running to Heywood), have lunch.
• 135 bus back to Manchester Piccadilly Gardens, walk to Piccadilly Station.
• Train to Hazel Grove, take photos, Train back to Manchester Oxford Road.
• Metroshuttle 2 back to just passed Hotel (driver wouldn't drop us at the Hotel bus stop).
• Metroshuttle 1 back to Piccadilly, Train to Sheffield, meet up with
  Fiona and Paul.
• Train back to Piccadilly, walk back to Hotel (too late for Metroshuttle by now)
• Friday
• Metroshuttle 1 to Piccadilly
• Train to Carlisle
• Have lunch, walk around City
• Discover that Settle and Carlise is a rail replacement bus, replan to go down to Cumbrian Coast instead!
• Train to Barrow, delayed train (the only one I think) to Lancaster, later train than we should have had to Piccadilly.
• Metroshuttle 1 to Hotel
• Saturday
• Metroshuttle 1 to Piccadilly
• Train to New Street, Train to Cov, Bus to my house
• Other notes:
• The poor Metroshuttle 1 guys were doing twice the distance due to 2 devations at the start of the week, 1 due to deansgate being shut, and 1due to defective moving bollards. Was told they had no additional running time granted for this! The moving bollards were fixed by around Wednesday.
• Radley shop was well close, destiny2909 quite likes their stuff.
• The Hotel was actually in Salford, since it was just the other side of the river Irwell, our room was river side on the 6th floor. Could easily have hit Manchester itself with a bow and arrow.
• Used a freedom of the North West Ticket mainly, except for buses, boats, trams and trains to Hazel Grove and Sheffield.
• It rained lots on Sunday and Tuesday. Not quite so bad on other days of the week.
• Half the city centre was being dug up, and there was no metro in the centre.
