New Kit For Neil
Rush is going on tour in 2004 to celebrate their 30th anniversary! I know, either you love them, or you hate them. I am a loyal fan, and seeing them play The Gorge in 2003 was my version of the Islamic trek to Mecca. Just like two years ago, I am going to fly all my buddies from the Marine Corps to a rallying location to witness this sure-to-be-astounding gig!
So in commemorating their illustrious career, Neil Peart’s drum kit is getting a makeover. For those of you who don’t know, Neil is a drum-god, a legend, “the professor.” If you get a chance, check out his drum solo entitled “The Rhythm Method” or on the Live in Rio disk it’s entitled “O Baterista.” This is over eight minutes of mind-blowing harmony created by one individual. I advocate you watch the video if you can get your hands on it, but being that we live in the age of downloadable music, you can get the audio version for less than a dollar legally, or well, free at a P2P site near you. But I warn you, be careful, you may just get sucked into the amazing hysteria that IS Rush too!
