I'm taking a Public Speaking class. It's a great class. The teacher is an oldish lady who likes to put the desks in a big circle and just read poetry or children's books and then everyone comments on them. It's kind of like LiveJournal, but in real life ( ! What will they think of next.) The topics ranged from dandelions to car wrecks. But lately we've actually been starting to do speeches/presentations. Yesterday, we gave informative speeches. One guy brought a guitar and told us how to write music. I learned absolutely nothing from it, but he played a nice song which he wrote about his wife. After that we kind of talked about love songs and The Boss (the teacher insists we call her this or Her Majesty, etc.) said "I've begun to think that all songs are love songs." She went on to explain how every song she has heard has had to do with some sort of love for something or the lack of that love. And she pretty much has a point. I think there are a few exceptions, but it's true that you never really hear people sing about things they don't care about it. It's like they either like it, love it or hate it. It's hardly ever anything they're indifferent about.
